MLB DFS Picks: Top Stacks for Monday, August 11th

Opto% Stack

New York Yankees vs. Minnesota Twins (Zebby Matthews)

The New York Yankees look like a strong MLB DFS stack against Zebby Matthews, supported by the best optimal stack rate and 3rd-best stack rating in projections, with an implied run total of 5.16 runs. Matthews’ profile—characterized by high strikeouts, low walks, and a proclivity for allowing fly balls—invites a focus on power hunting rather than traditional stacking.

The Yankees’ lineup boasts significant power potential, capable of capitalizing on Matthews’ tendency to allow home runs from both sides of the plate. Prioritizing players with low strikeout rates, such as Cody Bellinger, Trent Grisham, and Ben Rice makes a lot of sense.

While Aaron Judge remains a desirable option, his high salary demands careful budget consideration, especially given the array of pitching choices available on the slate. Emphasizing affordability and power potential within the Yankees’ lineup allows for more flexibility.

Value% Stack

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (Andrew Heaney)

The Milwaukee Brewers are a valuable MLB DFS stack option against Andrew Heaney, coming in with the 9th-best optimal stack rate and 2nd-best Value% in projections. With an implied run total of 5.3 runs, the Brewers are poised for a potentially high-scoring game.

Heaney’s current struggles, including difficulty extending past 4-5 innings, expose the Brewers to a potentially exploitable relief corps. While Milwaukee’s lineup showcases a lack of barrels, especially against LHP, the addition of Danny Jansen provides a much-needed power boost, leading the Brewers with a barrel rate over 7%.

Jansen gets the nod over William Contreras, should both play. Andrew Vaughn follows as a strong option, supported by the team’s balanced yet affordable lineup. This setup offers considerable upside in a scenario where slugging may not be necessary to outperform opponents, especially if high-caliber pitchers are effective elsewhere on the slate.

Additional depth arises from Isaac Collins and Blake Perkins, whose switch-hitting capabilities offer advantages against a mix of left- and right-handed pitching.

Overall, the Brewers afford DFS players a promising combination of value and run-scoring potential.
