MLB DFS Picks: Top Stacks for Tuesday, July 29th
Opto% Stack
Philadelphia Phillies at Chicago White Sox (Jonathan Cannon)
The Philadelphia Phillies are a compelling MLB DFS stack option against Jonathan Cannon, boasting the 2nd-best optimal stack rate and stack rating in projections. With an implied run total of 5.12 runs, they are primed for a strong performance.
Cannon’s tendency to give up power to both left- and right-handed hitters makes the Phillies an attractive choice, especially considering Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper as primary targets. These lefty sluggers have the potential to exploit Cannon’s vulnerabilities, offering considerable upside.
Given Cannon’s reverse splits, right-handed power hitters like Nick Castellanos, Trea Turner, and JT Realmuto also become valuable additions to the lineup. Their ability to capitalize on Cannon’s inefficiencies provides depth and flexibility, fitting well with salary considerations in DFS lineups.
Despite a lackluster performance the previous night, the Phillies’ favorable matchup today against a power-prone pitcher provides an excellent opportunity for offensive bounce back.

Value% Stack
Kansas City Royals vs. Atlanta Braves (Erick Fedde)
The Kansas City Royals are a solid MLB DFS stack option against Erick Fedde, highlighted by the 7th-best optimal stack rate and 5th-best Value% in projections. With an implied run total of 4.92 runs, the Royals are positioned to exploit Fedde’s vulnerabilities.
Fedde’s struggles this season, characterized by one of the worst K-BB% and SIERA among qualified pitchers, provide a prime opportunity for the Royals. Should Salvador Perez be available after his recent injury scare, he becomes a key player alongside Bobby Witt Jr. and Vinnie Pasquantino.
The rest of the Royals’ lineup, notably including John Rave, MJ Melendez, and Kyle Isbel, further enriches the stack because of how cheap they are. Despite their limitations, these players get a strong matchup vs. Fedde.
