MLB DFS Picks: Top Stacks for Tuesday, May 27th

Opto% Stack

Houston Astros vs. JP Sears

The Houston Astros present an intriguing MLB DFS stack against JP Sears, distinguished by the best optimal stack rate, top stack rating, and best Value% according to our projections. With an implied run total of 4.79 runs, the Astros have the potential to pile up some runs.

Despite some underwhelming stats against left-handed pitching this season, the sample size remains limited. This opens up the possibility of capitalizing on their underlying power. Players like Christian Walker and Isaac Paredes become attractive options due to their potential against lefties. Additionally, Yainer Diaz and Jeremy Pena provide further depth and might be worth considering, especially in MME contests.

While Sears is a competent pitcher, targeting affordable right-handed power hitters within the Astros lineup could work out.

Opto% Stack

NY Yankees at Tyler Anderson

The New York Yankees emerge as an excellent MLB DFS stack today against Tyler Anderson, buoyed by the 2nd-best optimal stack rate and stack rating, coupled with an implied run total of 5.01 runs. Despite Anderson’s prior success, recent performances reveal vulnerabilities, highlighted by his alarming control issues—notably 6 walks with no strikeouts in his last start. This becomes critical against a power-laden Yankees lineup.

As a low-strikeout, fly-ball pitcher reliant on home run/fly ball ratios, Anderson’s control problems could be exploited by the Yankees. Aaron Judge stands out as the top bat today, offering significant upside. Complemented by powerful right-handed hitters like Anthony Volpe and Jasson Dominguez, the Yankees’ ability to capitalize on Anderson’s lapses is prominent.
