Pitcher Grind Down
- Collin McHugh – After having an unbelievable April, McHugh continues to pitch well, but has lost that ace like stuff that took him through the first portion of the season. He now has a 3.22 ERA and a very nice 1.09 WHIP this year. He will look to bounce back from a rough start against the Mariners, but has a tough matchup against the Angels who have scored 17 runs in the first two games of the series. Rating = 5
Salaries: $7300 FD, $16625 DS, $17350 DD, $8300 DK, $63200 FF, $23600 SS, $17350 FTD
- Garrett Richards – Richards continued his great season even after giving up a 3-run bomb to Abreu and the White Sox. After that, he went 7 innings of 0 run ball and only 1 hit. Over the month of June, Richards had a 1.05 ERA, went 4-0, had 35 strikeouts in 34 innings and had a 1.61 BAA. He is the biggest favorite on the board today and makes for the top cash game and a great GPP play today. Rating = 9
Salaries: $8000 FD, $23520 DS, $17450 DD, $10200 DK, $134900 FF, $29200 SS, $17450 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Houston
I will be avoiding the Astros bats today.
LA Angels
Kole Calhoun – Calhoun has been such a great option recently as he continues to play well leading off for the Angels. In the last 6 games, he has 10 hits with 4 extra base hits, including 2 home runs.
Additional Plays: Mike Trout Josh Hamilton

Pitcher Grind Down
- Drew Hutchison – Hutchinson has been a bit up and down on the year and is coming off a great 10 K, 7 inning and 1 earned run performance against the Brewers. He has a 3.81 ERA on the season and brings his 8.06 K/9 in another matchup against the big offense of the A’s. The matchup really hurts Hutchinson’s value, but could make a GPP play due to the strikeout potential. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6000 FD, $14739 DS, $12250 DD, $6900 DK, $91200 FF, $20100 SS, $12250 FTD
- Jeff Samardzija – Samardzija gets greeted into the AL one day after being traded to the A’s and gets a awful matchup against the Blue Jays. We did see yesterday how different of a offense Toronto is away from Rogers Centre as Kazmir shut them down. They also look like they will not have Encarnacion in the lineup either. I think Samardzija will do everything he can to make a great start and should be revitalized by pitching for a winning club. He makes a decent play today. Rating = 7
Salaries: $7900 FD, $16535 DS, $15750 DD, $ DK, $76300 FF, $24500 SS, $15750 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Toronto
The Toronto bats are way to expensive to pay up for outside of Rogers Centre against a a pitcher looking to prove himself today.
Oakland
Coco Crisp – If Moss is starting, he makes a real good play as well, but Crisp has been on a nice stretch over the last week (7/21, with 1 home run).
Additional Plays: Brandon Moss

Pitcher Grind Down
- Tim Lincecum – Lincecum will be a very highly owned player today against the Padres due to a few factors. He is very cheap across the industry and is on the best two start stretch I think he has had in a few years. He gets a matchup against the same Padres team he threw a no-hitter against just 2 weeks ago. He faces them in pitcher friendly Petco this time making him an even better play. The blowup potential is always there so I would not throw him in all my cash games, but he should pitch well again today. Rating = 7
Salaries: $7900 FD, $20140 DS, $14700 DD, $8500 DK, $92500 FF, $23500 SS, $14700 FTD
- Jesse Hahn – The Padres factor of pitching at home has really helped Hahn make a decent punt play in his first few starts this year. In his last 2 starts at home, he has allowed 0 earned runs and had 16 strikeouts in 12 innings. He gets a Giants team today that he pitched well against earlier this season and is actually a small favorite in a game with by far the lowest total. He makes a good play where he is cheap. Rating = 7
Salaries: $6700 FD, $19608 DS, $16050 DD, $8800 DK, $103100 FF, $26000 SS, $16050 FTD

San Francisco
Avoid bats in the game with the lowest total in San Diego today.
San Diego
Lincecum may not throw a no-hitter, but it is safe to avoid the guessing game of which Padre will gets some hits today.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Josh Beckett – Beckett has pitched very well this year and brings a 2.37 ERA into Coors. He pitched a good game against the Rockies in LA earlier, but Coors is always a different story. The total is at 11 and you can avoid Beckett today. Rating = 3
Salaries: $8300 FD, $16015 DS, $17200 DD, $8900 DK, $108600 FF, $23800 SS, $17200 FTD
- Yohan Flande – Flande may be the easiest avoid of the day. A lefty in Coors against an offense full of power righties. No thanks. Rating = 1

LA Dodgers
Yasiel Puig Ramirez(player-profile)”:/players/Hanley_Ramirez-10471 – All the Dodgers really make great plays today, but Puig and Hanley may be my favorites. These two guys seem to always come through against poor pitching and should both be heavily involved in the offense today.
Additional Plays: Scott Van Slyke Matt Kemp Juan Uribe A.J. Ellis
Colorado
Corey Dickerson – Dickerson proves to continue to be a great play against RH pitching in Coors. He is crushing righties for .366 and a .680 SLG.
Additional Plays: Charlie Blackmon Willin Rosario Troy Tulowitzki

Pitcher Grind Down
- David Price – Price has been one of my favorite pitchers to target on the season. He has a 3.50 ERA, but that does not tell the whole story as he has been consistently pitching deep into games (7+ innings in last 8 starts) and has been striking guys out like crazy (9+ in his last 6 games). The problem today is the matchup against the Tigers who have some big time bats. Price will be tough to pay up for as there are a few other safe options today, but makes a great GPP play. Rating = 7
Salaries: $10600 FD, $26008 DS, $20950 DD, $12000 DK, $134200 FF, $32500 SS, $NA FTD
- Rick Porcello – Porcello has been a very nice starter for the Tigers on the year. He has an overall 3.12 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP on the year. Recently, he has been on a hot streak of 0 earned runs in his last 3 starts and has had 2 complete games in a row. His strike out rate of 5.23 K/9 depresses his value a bit, but the Rays lack of offense makes Porcello a good play tonight.
Salaries: $7500 FD, $18386 DS, $14950 DD, $7700 DK, $109100 FF, $23300 SS, $ FTD
Batter Grind Down
Tampa Bay
Matt Joyce – Joyce is always in play against RH pitching as the Rays usually bat him in the 3 spot and he is really hitting well recently (6/23, with 3 home runs).
Detroit
Victor Martinez – VMART has a good history against Price. He is 8/17 with 3 home runs in his career against Price.
Additional Plays: Miguel Cabrera
