Pitcher Grind Down
- Jonathon Niese – On paper, there is no reason not to take Niese tonight. He has pitched well with a 2.54 ERA, a 1.13 WHIP, and a K/9 of 6.6. He also has a favorable matchup against the Cardinals who are ranked 26th against LH pitching this season. All that said, I can’t recommend him tonight as he is a huge underdog and will likely see little to no run support with Wacha pitching opposite him. Rating = 5
Salaries: $7500 FD, $15256 DS, $13600 DD, $7800 DK, $85000 FF, $22000 SS, $14150 FTD
- Michael Wacha – Wacha is one of the top pitching options on the board tonight. He is having a terrific season and draws a favorable matchup against the Mets who are ranked 28th against RH pitching with a team .293 wOBA. Rating = 9
Salaries: $7900 FD, $19225 DS, $16450 DD, $9500 DK, $94400 FF, $25500 SS, $16800 FTD
Batter Grind Down
NY Mets
I’ll be avoiding all Mets’ bats tonight against Wacha who has held LHB’s and RHB’s under a .295 wOBA this season.
St. Louis
Allen Craig – Craig has had a subpar season thus far, but has still hit LH pitching well. He has a .376 wOBA against southpaws this season and is dirt cheap across the industry.
Additional Plays: Yadier Molina

Pitcher Grind Down
- Kyle Lohse – Lohse is coming off of an 8 inning shutout against the Mets in his last outing. He draws a much tougher matchup tonight against the Diamondbacks in Chase Field. He’s a small underdog in a game that features a total of 8.5 runs. I think there are better options at his price point. Rating = 5
Salaries: $7100 FD, $16959 DS, $15650 DD, $8500 DK, $96000 FF, $24200 SS, $16250 FTD
- Wade Miley – Miley is a high-strikeout pitcher, but has struggled all season long. He has a 4.71 ERA on the season with a 1.30 WHIP. He has struggled to contain RHB’s and has to face a Brewers’ lineup that is littered with RHB’s. I’ll be avoiding Miley in all leagues. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6200 FD, $13953 DS, $13150 DD, $7800 DK, $75000 FF, $19600 SS, $13450 FTD

Milwaukee
Ryan Braun – I love the matchup for Braun tonight. Braun has always hit LH pitching well and Miley has always struggled against RHB’s. Braun also has 2 HR’s off of Miley in only 5 career at-bats.
Additional Plays: Jonathan Lucroy, Rickie Weeks
Arizona
Miguel Montero – Montero disappointed in a juicy matchup last night, but I’ll be targeting him again tonight against the RHP Lohse. Montero has a .401 wOBA against RH pitching this season.
Additional Plays: Paul Goldschmidt, Didi Gregorious

Pitcher Grind Down
- Yu Darvish – Darvish travels to Oakland to take on the swinging A’s tonight. Darvish has been terrific this season with a 2.11 ERA and a K/9 of 10.7. He has had 7 straight quality fantasy outings, but has had some problems with this A’s team in the past. The A’s have a combined 8 HR’s in Darvish’s 9 starts against them. He still has the most upside of any pitcher on the board, but the matchup is a little tougher than some of the other aces on the mound. Rating = 9
Salaries: $11800 FD, $24795 DS, $20950 DD, $12200 DK, $153900 FF, $33000 SS, $24700 FTD
- Tommy Milone – Milone has pitched well at home, but the Rangers have been very good against LH pitching this season (just ask Milone’s teammate Drew Pomeranz). The Rangers are ranked 3rd in the majors against LH pitching with a team .342 wOBA. Vegas sees this as a close game, but I’m just not a huge fan of the matchup for Milone. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6100 FD, $12637 DS, $11450 DD, $7000 DK, $79700 FF, $18500 SS, $11850 FTD

Texas
Alex Rios – Rios is one of those players that you can always seem to count on to provide some kind of production, especially when he is facing a LHP. On the season he has an impressive .510 wOBA against southpaws.
Additional Plays: Adrian Beltre, Michael Choice
Oakland
Even though the A’s have had some success off of Darvish in the past, I will not be targeting any of them tonight.
Colorado at LA Dodgers

Pitcher Grind Down
- Jhoulys Chacin – Chacin has a 4.53 ERA on the season with a 1.37 WHIP on the season. He has been an easy pitcher to avoid all season long and that trend will continue tonight against the Dodgers who are ranked 4th against RH pitching. Rating = 3
Salaries: $5600 FD, $10107 DS, $9350 DD, $6300 DK, $66400 FF, $14400 SS, $9450 FTD
- Zack Greinke – Greinke has given up 12 earned runs over his last 4 starts, but should still be considered one of the top pitching options available tonight. He is boasting a 2.65 ERA with a 1.15 WHIP and a K/9 of 9.7. He has a great matchup against the Rockies who are a much different team offensively when they are away from Coors Field. Rating = 9
Salaries: $9600 FD, $18911 DS, $18050 DD, $11600 DK, $114100 FF, $27000 SS, $19350 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Colorado
I’ll be avoiding all Rockies’ bats tonight against Greinke.
LA Dodgers
Matt Kemp – Kemp is finally starting to look like the MVP from a few years ago. He has 14 hits over his last 10 games and draws a nice matchup against Chacin whom he has already hit 2 HR’s off of in his career.
Additional Plays: Hanley Ramirez, Yasiel Puig
