Happy Friday! Major League Baseball has 14 games on tap for this evening, featuring plenty of big names on the bump to begin the weekend, including Paul Skenes, Hunter Greene, Dylan Cease, and more!

As always, it’s important to keep an eye on the MLB weather report before committing to any wagers. The forecast is once again looking friendly to hitters in Sacramento, with the temperature hovering around 95 degrees and winds blowing out to left-center field around first pitch.

Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Friday, July 31st!

Best MLB Player Props for Friday, July 31st

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:10 PM ET on Friday, July 31st:

Paul Skenes OVER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-162, DraftKings)

Skenes has a 4.55 ERA since the beginning of June, but his 3.32 xERA and 2.69 FIP in that span suggest he’s been unlucky rather than bad. The Reds do not have many capable bats in their lineup on a nightly basis – certainly, not many that will have a matchup advantage against Skenes.

Pittsburgh could use some length from Skenes on Friday after using all three of their high leverage arms on Thursday. This is a good price to invest in a talented pitcher.

Nathan Eovaldi UNDER 18.5 Outs Recorded (-155, DraftKings)

Add this pick with 1 click!PLACE THIS BET ONDRAFTKINGS

Eovaldi has thrown 94 pitches or fewer in 9 of his last 10 starts. In July, he’s faced more than 24 batters only once. Simply, he hasn’t been reliably getting deep into games for the Rangers.

Entering play on Friday, Texas has a mostly rested arm barn. There are a lot of ways in which Eovaldi could be done after 6 frames in this spot. He would need to be unusually efficient to get an opportunity at the 7th inning.

Bryce Miller OVER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-150, BetMGM)

Add this pick with 1 click!PLACE THIS BET ONBETMGM

Miller hasn’t made it through 6 innings in any of his last 3 turns through the rotation, but that hasn’t been due to a short leash. He’s faced 23, 26, and 28 batters in that span, but has struggled to keep runs off of the board, which has led to early showers.

Tonight, he draws a favorable matchup against the Twins, an offense that ranks 28th in wRC+ across the last 14 days. Seattle’s arm barn is rested, but Miller should have every opportunity to get through 6 innings.
