There are only 3 MLB games on the schedule for Thursday, but baseball fans should still be plenty entertained, with names like Cole Ragans, Reynaldo Lopez, and Robbie Ray on the bump.
Today is a travel day for the Braves, Mets, and Giants, which means bettors should double-check today’s MLB Lineups page to ensure that all the usual stars are playing and not receiving a maintenance day.
Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Thursday, April 2nd!
Best MLB Player Props for Thursday, April 2nd
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 2:10 PM ET on Thursday, April 2nd:
- Cole Ragans Over/Under 3.5 Hits Allowed
- Ronald Acuna Jr. Over/Under 0.5 Stolen Bases
- Geraldo Perdomo Over/Under 0.5 Stolen Bases
Cole Ragans OVER 3.5 Hits Allowed (-164, Caesars)
Ragans missed 101 days on the injured list last year due to a rotator cuff strain. Though he looked healthy in a brief return to the mound in September, these are injuries that rarely go away quietly. Ragans’ velocity looked good to begin Spring Training this season but quietly diminished as Opening Day approached. In his first regular season start of 2026, Ragans averaged 94.5 mph on his 4-seamer – nearly a full mph slower than where he sat in 2025.
Atlanta tagged Ragans for 4 earned runs on 6 hits in 4.0 innings last week. If Ragans’ velocity is still down on Thursday, Minnesota should be able to get to him for at least a little bit of damage this afternoon.
Ronald Acuna Jr. OVER 0.5 Stolen Bases (+550, bet365)
Acuna should never be north of +500 to steal a base. He’s only swiped one bag so far this season, but he was aggressive on the basepaths during Spring Training and should continue to operate in a similar manner during the regular season. He has been picked off twice so far, but that shouldn’t limit his freedom to take a chance on the bases when he sees an opportunity.
Acuna stole 9 bases in 95 games in 2025 and 16 bases in 49 games in 2024. On a small slate, this could be a fun sprinkle.
Geraldo Perdomo OVER 0.5 Stolen Bases (+400, bet365)
Perdomo swiped 27 bases last year and already has 1 stolen base in 2026. Tonight, he gets to face Reynaldo Lopez, who isn’t particularly quick to home plate. In 2024, teams were extremely aggressive trying to swipe bases against Lopez, despite Atlanta having one of the better defensive catchers in the spot behind home plate. Kansas City was aggressive with their limited opportunities against Lopez in his first start of 2026, too. On a small slate where it might be tough to find many plays to your liking, this could be a fun sweat.
