The Pirates and Yankees have already been postponed due to inclement weather. There are a few other spots on the east coast that are also at risk of being postponed. As always, it’s important to keep an eye on the MLB weather report before committing to any wagers.

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Tuesday, July 21st:
- Reynaldo Lopez Over/Under 14.5 Outs Recorded
- Framber Valdez Over/Under 17.5 Outs Recorded
- Matthew Liberatore Over/Under 14.5 Outs Recorded
Reynaldo Lopez OVER 14.5 Outs Recorded (-186, Novig)
Lopez hasn’t been very efficient since rejoining the Atlanta rotation, but it’s very clearly Plan A for him to get through 5 innings whenever possible. The Braves had built Lopez up to 85 pitches prior to the All-Star Break. San Diego isn’t an ideal matchup for him – a team that is very patient at the plate. Still, Lopez has been in the zone enough to give himself a viable chance at 15 outs as long as he doesn’t get shelled.
Framber Valdez OVER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-117, DraftKings)
DRAFTKINGSValdez has been incredibly efficient of late, averaging 3.5 pitches per batter faced during the last 30 days. Across his last 5 starts, he owns a 3.05 xERA, 3.14 FIP, and 1.27 WHIP. His swinging-strike rate has been down, but he’s been working ahead in counts and limiting quality contact – a recipe for consistently getting deep into games.
Chicago has hit southpaws well in recent weeks, but the forecast certainly favors pitching tonight at Wrigley Field, and Detroit would likely appreciate some length from Valdez after heavily using their arm barn each of the last two days. This is good value for Valdez to get through 6 innings.
Matthew Liberatore OVER 14.5 Outs Recorded (-163, Novig)
Liberatore was pulled at fewer than 80 pitches in each of his last 2 starts prior to the All-Star Break, but he still faced 22+ batters in both of those outings. He hasn’t faced fewer than 21 batters in a start since June 18 – a night in which he allowed 5 runs on 7 hits in 1.2 innings.
Liberatore set a new career high with 151.2 innings in 2025, so he’s not someone that needs to have his workload aggressively managed coming out of the All-Star Break in 2026. The Angels have seen southpaws well in recent weeks, but this is still a spot where Plan A is almost surely to get Liberatore through 5 innings, at a minimum.
