Today’s MLB action began earlier this afternoon with 6 games, but there are still 9 games left to get underway, which means plenty of betting opportunities still on the board.

It looks like another night of volatile MLB weather across the country, with temperatures under 50 degrees in Boston and Chicago but more hitter-friendly conditions in Washington D.C. and Colorado. As always, be sure to keep an eye on temperature and wind before committing to any wagers.

Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Wednesday, April 22nd!

Best MLB Player Props for Wednesday, April 22nd

Here are my top player prop bets, with the first pitch tonight scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Wednesday, April 22nd:

Max Fried OVER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-178, FanDuel)

Fried recorded only 16 outs against the Angels in his most recent start, but he took the mound that day in extremely hitter-friendly weather conditions. Tonight, he will toe the rubber at Fenway Park on a night when the forecast has the temperature below 50 degrees.

Fried, who excels at limiting hard contact, will be aided even further by the cold temperatures. He will also be facing a Boston lineup that has extremely lack of capable righties.

This season, Fried has been stretched out to as many as 103 pitches and 30 batters faced. Even with a rested Yankees arm barn behind him, he should have every chance to complete 6 innings.

Didier Fuentes OVER 14.5 Outs Recorded (-158, DraftKings)

Fuentes has been recalled to start tonight’s game for the Braves. Though they have left-handed Jose Suarez available as a long-relief option, it doesn’t appear as though this will be an intentionally abbreviated start for Fuentes.

In his 2 most recent minor-league starts, Fuentes has thrown 86 and 83 pitches. He faced 26 and 23 batters, respectively. There is a legitimate question as to how successful he will be tonight, given his fastball-heavy approach against a lefty-heavy Washington lineup. Nevertheless, the plan is likely to get some length from Fuentes, which means there is some value on him to get through 5 frames.

Kyle Tucker OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-120, BetMGM)

Tucker went hitless last night in the Dodgers’ series opener against the Giants. Nonetheless, this is still good value. Tucker should again be in the 2-hole, directly behind Shohei Ohtani and directly in front of Will Smith and Freddie Freeman. That placement in the lineup gives him a high probability of coming to the plate with men on base. It also means there are guys behind him who are capable of driving him home if Tucker reaches base.

Tyler Mahle has allowed an 87.8% in-zone contact rate this season. He’s not missing many bats, nor is he consistently getting ahead in counts. Tucker should have opportunities to deliver in key moments tonight.
