MLB Player Props for Wednesday, 5/13: Best Bets & Predictions Today

What kind of performances can we expect from Mitch Keller, Christian Scott, and Robbie Ray? Follow along as our MLB betting analyst, Nick Galaida, breaks down three of his favorite MLB prop bets for Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Wednesday’s MLB slate began earlier this afternoon with a pair of afternoon contests, but there are still 13 games left to get underway as of this writing. That means plenty of entertainment for baseball fans and still plenty of betting opportunities on the board!
Daily piece of advice: Bettors should start the day by taking a look at the MLB weather. Despite being halfway through May, we are still seeing cooler temperatures around the league. Tonight, the forecast temperature at first pitch is below 70 degrees in Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Boston, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Wednesday, May 13th!
Best MLB Player Props for Wednesday, May 13th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Wednesday, May 13th:
- Mitch Keller Over/Under 4.5 Strikeouts
- Christian Scott Over/Under 15.5 Outs Recorded
- Robbie Ray Over/Under 17.5 Outs Recorded
Mitch Keller UNDER 4.5 Strikeouts (+117, Novig)
Keller owns a 2.87 ERA through 8 starts this season, but his strikeout rate and walk rate have both gone in the wrong direction from 2025. Entering play on Wednesday, Keller has only struck out 14.8% of the LHB he has faced – a notable statistic, given that Colorado has 6 LHB in this evening’s lineup. It’s not difficult to see Keller finishing with 5 strikeouts in this matchup, but getting plus money on the under is +EV in this spot, especially with a relatively fresh Pittsburgh arm barn behind him.
Christian Scott UNDER 15.5 Outs Recorded (-160, DraftKings)
Scott threw the ball well in his most recent outing against the Rockies, but he still only faced 19 batters and was lifted after throwing only 82 pitches. Scott has never thrown more than 87.1 innings in any season of professional baseball, so it stands to reason that the Mets are going to continue to be extremely cautious with his workload in 2026.
The Tigers have seen the 3rd-most pitches per plate appearance in the big leagues this season. If Scott averages roughly 4 pitches per batter faced tonight, he should face a maximum of 20 batters – possibly enough to get 15 outs, but not likely enough opportunity to get a chance at a 6th inning. It’s also worth noting that the Mets have a very fresh bullpen behind Scott this evening.
Robbie Ray UNDER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-160, BetMGM)
Ray owns a 2.76 ERA through 8 starts this year, but his 4.15 xERA and 4.52 FIP both indicate that he’s likely due for at least some negative regression in the near future. Most notably, Ray has been one of the league’s more inefficient arms in recent weeks, averaging well north of 4 pitches per batter faced. Ray has recorded 18+ outs in both of his last 2 turns through the San Francisco rotation, but he hasn’t faced more than 23 batters in any of those outings. The Dodgers won’t have Shohei Ohtani in their lineup tonight, but it’s still far from a guarantee that Ray gets deep into this contest.
