Happy Friday! Major League Baseball has 15 games on tap to begin the weekend, with some notable aces like Tarik Skubal, Kodai Senga, and Sonny Gray scheduled to start for their respective teams. The action begins with an afternoon affair in Tampa at 1:10 p.m. ET, but all the other games have a scheduled first pitch for 6:40 p.m. ET or later, giving the betting community plenty of time to find a few plays to their liking today.
As always, be sure to monitor our MLB starting lineups page throughout the day, as unexpected changes in the batting order can result in value opportunities in the betting and DFS markets.
Another reminder – it’s not a bad beat, or unlucky, if you bet a player to hit a home run and his fly ball dies on the warning track because it’s 40 degrees with the wind blowing in! Before locking in any bets, use our MLB weather page, curated by Chief Meteorologist, Kevin Roth. There are countless edges to be found if we make the right reads on possible rain delays and great hitting weather, just to name a few. Taking a look at the weather report can save us from a bad bet that otherwise looks good on the surface.
Below, you can find my 3 picks for Friday, June 6th!

Best MLB Player Props for Friday, June 6th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 p.m. ET on Friday, June 6th:
- Ryan O’Hearn Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Brent Rooker Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Gunnar Henderson Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Ryan O’Hearn OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+100, BetMGM)
O’Hearn hasn’t had a lot of opportunities against LHP this season, but he’s been productive in those spots when given a chance (.333 batting average and 137 wRC+). He gets a favorable matchup against JP Sears, who doesn’t miss many bats. Behind Sears, O’Hearn should get at least 1 plate appearance against a righty, which positions him even better to do some damage. This is good value.
Brent Rooker OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-150, BetMGM)
Dean Kremer has been better against righties than lefties this season, but he’s not generating many swings-and-misses against anyone. Rooker is at his best against LHP, but he still owns a solid .741 OPS and 113 wRC+ at home against RHP this season. The weather once again appears to be very hitter-friendly in Sacramento, which positions Rooker well to do some damage at the plate.
Gunnar Henderson OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-135, BetMGM)
After beginning the season on the injured list, Henderson is off to a slow start, at least by his standards. Entering play on Friday, he’s hitting only .257 with a 113 wRC+. That said, he’s been seeing the ball a little bit better of late. During his last 14 games, he’s hitting .268 and has scored 10 runs. Henderson gets a great matchup against JP Sears, who has been allowing a lot of quality contact in the air. Henderson has struggled this year against LHP, but he had a 138 wRC+ in those same-sided matchups last season, so it’s likely only a matter of time before he sees some positive regression.
