MLB Player Props Today
- Gerrit Cole o17.5 Outs Recorded
- Aaron Nola o17.5 Outs Recorded
- Jose Ramirez Less Than 0.5 Strikeouts
Gerrit Cole o17.5 Outs Recorded (-193), Caesars
Since May 28, Gerrit Cole owns a 2.94 ERA, 3.22 FIP, and a 0.96 WHIP. During that stretch, he has recorded at least 18 outs in 17 of his 19 turns through the rotation. Tonight, he gets to face the Pittsburgh Pirates, which rank 16th in OPS and 20th in ISO against right-handed pitching since August 15. Pittsburgh also ranks 19th in hard-hit percentage and 21st in line-drive rate during that time period, meaning that they are not frequently barreling up the baseball. Cole enters play tonight as the American League Cy Young favorite and has a great opportunity to add to his candidacy in this matchup.
Aaron Nola o17.5 Outs Recorded (-120), BetMGM
During the month of September, Aaron Nola owns a ghastly 11.00 ERA, but a 4.70 FIP suggests that he has been nowhere near as bad as the surface-level numbers indicate. Nola’s .464 BABIP in those two starts is particularly unlucky, given that he has not been toasted with hard-contact or barreled balls. This evening, Nola gets a favorable matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals, which rank 18th in OPS and 21st in ISO against right-handed pitching since August 15. The Cardinals are also outside of the top-10 in line-drive percentage and Hard-Hit% in that span. This is a good bounce-back spot for Nola, who is still pounding the strike zone and has maintained strong peripherals despite his recent struggles.
MLB DFS Pick’em
Jose Ramirez Less Than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks
Jose Ramirez struck out on Wednesday but had yesterday off to rest his body and reset himself mentally. On Friday night, he has a favorable matchup against Jon Gray, who has struck out only 20.4% of the left-handed hitters he has faced in 2023. Ramirez ranks in the 98th percentile in strikeout rate and 94th percentile in whiff percentage among qualified hitters this season. He is a trustworthy option to avoid a strikeout in this contest.
