MLB Player Props Today

Adam Wainwright u17.5 outs recorded (-140), BetMGM

In five starts this year, Adam Wainwright is yet to eclipse this market number once. On Monday, it is difficult to see Wainwright putting a stop to that negative trend when he faces the Texas Rangers, the team that has scored the most runs of any team in baseball to begin 2023. Wainwright has struggled against both right- and left-handed batters this year and pitching on the road has long been a struggle for him during the latter half of his career. There are a number of factors working against Wainwright in this spot – take the under.

Bo Bichette u0.5 strikeouts (-105), DraftKings

Entering play on Monday, Bo Bichette has struck out in only 15.8% of his plate appearances in 2023. Tonight, he gets to face Brandon Bielak, who struggles to generate many swings at pitches out of the strike zone. Part of the issue is that Bielak owns a low-90s fastball with 2nd percentile extension, meaning that there is very little deception in his delivery. If Bichette can avoid 2-strike counts against his slider, he should be able to do damage in this spot. We will trust Bichette to make contact against the Houston Astros bullpen in the late innings.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Juan Soto less than 0.5 hitter strikeouts, PrizePicks

Juan Soto is striking out in a career-worst 22.0% of his plate appearances in 2023, but he gets a dream matchup tonight against the soft-tossing Kyle Hendricks. Hendricks generates swings and misses at a rate far worse than the league average pitcher. His poor velocity and minimal extension do not help him create any additional deception within his delivery, which would help his sub-part stuff play up a little bit better. Soto has struck out in less than 20 percent of his plate appearances against right-handed pitching this year, making this a worthwhile risk.
