MLB Player Props Today

Ronald Acuna Jr. u0.5 Strikeouts (-115), DraftKings

Ronald Acuna Jr. is rightfully thought of as one of the league’s most impressive power hitters, but he is also an underrated contact machine at the plate. Entering play on Saturday, Acuna Jr. ranks in the 95th percentile in strikeout percentage, 81st percentile in whiff%, and the 86th percentile in chase rate. He rarely swings at bad pitches, infrequently swings and misses, and overall has a mature approach in the batter’s box. Facing the soft-tossing Julio Teheran today, Acuna Jr. is a good bet to put the ball in play each time he comes to the dish.

Ozzie Albies u0.5 Strikeouts (-115), DraftKings

Ozzie Albies chases quite a few pitches out of the zone, but he still ranks in the 88th percentile in strikeout rate among qualified hitters this year due to his impressive bat-to-ball skills. Facing right-handed pitching in 2023, Albies has struck out in only 15.9% of his plate appearances. After striking out in six of his last seven contests, it is likely that Albies sees some positive regression in this department sooner rather than later – trust him to get the job done here.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Matt Olson More Than 1.5 Total Bases, PrizePicks

Julio Teheran has shown little ability to solve left-handed hitters in 2023. Across the platoon, Teheran has posted an abysmal 5.74 FIP, allowing six home runs in only 113 batters faced. On the season, Matt Olson has hit 28 of his 33 home runs against right-handed pitching, in addition to over a dozen doubles. The weather is hitter-friendly today in Atlanta, making this a worthwhile risk to start the weekend.
