MLB Player Props Today
- David Peterson u4.5 Strikeouts
- Shohei Ohtani o1.5 Total Bases
- Manny Machado less than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts
David Peterson u4.5 Strikeouts (+105), BetMGM
David Peterson has a difficult matchup ahead of him this evening against a San Diego Padres offense that has seen left-handed pitching extremely well this year. Since June 1, the Padres rank 8th in OPS and 7th in ISO against southpaws. They have also been extremely patient at the plate, ranking third in walk rate. Peterson has pitched into the sixth inning only once in his last six turns through the rotation – expect him to struggle this evening and for him to find it difficult to generate many swings and misses.
Shohei Ohtani o1.5 Total Bases (-105), BetMGM
Entering play on Saturday, Shohei Ohtani is in a mini-slump, with only one total base in his last four games played. Tonight, the Los Angeles Dodgers have yet to name a starting pitcher, but bettors should feel confident locking in this play regardless of who ends up on the mound. Ohtani has an OPS north of 1.000 against both right- and left-handed pitching this season. Trust him to get the job done here.
MLB DFS Pick’em
Manny Machado less than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks
Manny Machado has not had his best season to date, but much of his struggles have come against right-handed pitching. Tonight, he gets to face David Peterson out of the gate. Facing southpaws in 2023, Machado owns a .911 OPS and has struck out in only 13.3% of his total plate appearances. Machado’s at-bats late in the game against the New York Mets bullpen present risk here, but this is still worth a roll of the dice if using PrizePicks.
