MLB Player Props Today

Carlos Carrasco u15.5 Outs Recorded (-128), FanDuel

Simply, Carlos Carrasco has been one of the least effective pitchers in Major League Baseball in 2023. Entering play on Sunday, he owns a dreadful 6.40 ERA, 6.50 xERA, and a 5.83 FIP. His 1.62 WHIP is enough to get most players removed from the starting rotation, if not removed from their team’s roster entirely. However, his veteran status and the fact that the New York Mets are playing meaningless baseball in August has afforded him at least one more trip to the hill. According to props.cash, Carrasco has lasted more than five innings in only four of his eighteen starts in 2023. Sunday can be an outlier day on the diamond, but this is a play that is difficult to pass up.

Bryson Stott u0.5 Strikeouts (-120), DraftKings

After cashing for us each of the last two days, we are absolutely running things back again with Bryson Stott. Stott ranks in the 89th percentile in strikeout percentage and the 95th percentile in whiff rate among qualified hitters this season. On Sunday Night Baseball today, he will face Trevor Williams, who owns a pedestrian 12.5% strikeout rate against left-handed batters in 2023. Let’s see if Stott can complete a weekend sweep for us tonight!

MLB DFS Pick’em

Masataka Yoshida Less Than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks

Masataka Yoshida has dealt with some late-season fatigue at the dish, which has diminished his power output. Nevertheless, he still has only struck out in 15.3% of his plate appearances during the month of August. Today, he gets a favorable matchup against Clarke Schmidt, who has struck out only 18.1% of the left-handed batters he has faced this year. After three consecutive games with a strikeout, Yoshida is a good candidate for positive regression in the contact department this afternoon.
