MLB Player Props Today

Ian Happ to Hit a Home Run (+500), FanDuel

Luis Ortiz has allowed five home runs this season, three of which have come via left-handed batters, despite the fact that right-handed hitters have more plate appearances against him. Ortiz owns an extremely low 8.2% strikeout rate against left-handed batters, meaning that Ian Happ will have a good chance to put the ball in play in this matchup. Ortiz also has a fly ball rate that is nearly five percent higher for left-handed batters than it is for right-handed batters. All of Happ’s home runs this season have come against right-handed pitching, making him a worthwhile consideration if participating in Dinger Tuesday at FanDuel Sportsbook today.

Jack Suwinski to Hit a Home Run (+350), FanDuel

We have used Jack Suwinski twice this season for the Dinger Tuesday and he has delivered once, giving us the confidence to run it back with him again today. Ahead of first pitch, the forecast is calling for winds blowing out to right field at Wrigley Field for tonight’s contest – creating an environment that will boost fly balls from left-handed batters. Suwinski also gets to face Jameson Taillon, who owns an extremely high 50.8% fly ball right against left-handed batters in 2023. The conditions are there for a Suwinski long ball if he can simply get the ball in the air during the early portion of this contest.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Bryson Stott less than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks

We tried running this play yesterday, but Bryson Stott ultimately ended up out of the lineup. Today, we are going to run it back, with Stott having another favorable matchup. Zach Davies owns a pedestrian 16.7% strikeout rate against left-handed batters this season, with opposing left-handed hitters posting a .309 batting average against him. Simply, Davies does not create much deception across the platoon split. Stott owns a sub-20.0% strikeout rate against right-handed hurlers in 2023, making him a good bet to put the ball in play each time he steps in the box this evening.
