Happy Wednesday! Following an exciting holiday edition of baseball yesterday, Major League Baseball is back today with another 15-game slate. The action begins at 2:10 p.m. EST with a matchup between the Colorado Rockies and Houston Astros, with the other 14 contests having a scheduled first pitch of 6:40 p.m. EST or later.

In his first four big-league starts, Bobby Miller had 23 strikeouts in 23 innings pitched, all while posting a dazzling 0.78 ERA and a 2.21 FIP. Across his last three outings, Miller has only 12 strikeouts in 15.2 innings of work and has seen his overall production fall off dramatically – posting a 9.39 ERA and a 5.19 FIP in that span. Since June 15, the Pittsburgh Pirates rank a respectable 13th in strikeout percentage against right-handed pitching. Expect them to make life difficult for Miller in this matchup – take the under.
James Outman o0.5 Total Bases (-130), BetMGM
In 2023, when we bet on James Outman, he delivers – it’s been as simple as that. He cashed again for us yesterday and has earned another endorsement from us heading into Wednesday’s slate. Since June 23, Outman is batting .268 with a .741 OPS. Tonight, he gets a favorable matchup against Osvaldo Bido, who has allowed a .294 opponent batting average to left-handed hitters this season. Trust Outman to get the job done for us once again in this spot.

Andres Gimenez less than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks
Ahead of the first pitch on Wednesday, Andres Gimenez ranks in the 82nd percentile in strikeout percentage this season. Tonight, he gets a favorable matchup against Michael Soroka, who has struck out only 15.0% of the left-handed batters he has faced at the big-league level this year. Across his last five games, Gimenez has struck out in only 13.6% of his plate appearances – expect him to put the ball in play each time he steps in the box this evening.
