MLB Player Props Today

Kyle Tucker To Hit a Home Run (+420), FanDuel

Last season, Jose Berrios allowed 25 home runs, 16 of which he surrendered to lefties. To begin 2024, the Houston Astros have been mostly putting 6 or 7 righties in the lineup card each day, with Yordan Alvarez and Tucker being the only 2 consistent lefties present.

If someone is going to leave the yard against Berrios today, it’s more probable than not that it will be either Alvarez or Tucker. Alvarez has more power, but we are getting much more favorable odds on Tucker, a player who hit 17 home runs and had a 41.7% fly ball rate against RHP last season.

Logan O’Hoppe To Hit a Home Run (+680), FanDuel

There are some defensive concerns in O’Hoppe’s profile, but there aren’t many bad things to say about his bat, especially against southpaws. In 2023, O’Hoppe hit 11 home runs in only 153 plate appearances against LHP. He had a 49% fly ball rate and 37.5% hard-contact percentage in those trips to the plate.

Jesus Luzardo is a talented pitcher, but he allowed a 46.8% fly ball rate to righties last season. Unsurprisingly, 19 of the 22 home runs he allowed were to righties. Luzardo is also a fastball-dominant pitcher against righties, which bodes well for O’Hoppe. In 2023, O’Hoppe ranked 20th out of 476 hitters in ISO against fastballs. This is a mispriced line – hopefully O’Hoppe can deliver for us!

Christian Walker To Hit a Home Run (+500), FanDuel

Nestor Cortes has never induced many ground balls, which makes him a perfect pitcher to target if participating in the FanDuel Dinger Tuesday promotion.

Cortes allowed a staggering 58.5% fly ball rate to righties in 2023, which led to 9 home runs allowed in only 51 innings. Walker ranked 5th in Major League Baseball in home runs against LHP last season, with 13. His 48.6% fly ball rate and pull-happy tendencies in these situations give him great value at the current line of +500.
