All 30 MLB teams are scheduled to be in action on Tuesday as part of a 15-game slate. Each of those games has a scheduled first pitch of 6:10 PM ET or later, giving the betting community plenty of time to examine the board and find a few spots to their liking.

As always, be sure to monitor our MLB starting lineups page throughout the day, as unexpected changes in the batting order can result in value opportunities in the betting and DFS markets.

Another reminder – it’s not a bad beat, or unlucky, if you bet a player to hit a home run and his fly ball dies on the warning track because it’s 40 degrees with the wind blowing in! Before locking in any bets, use our MLB weather page, curated by Chief Meteorologist, Kevin Roth. There are countless edges to be found if we make the right reads on possible rain delays and great hitting weather, just to name a few. Taking a look at the weather report can save us from a bad bet that otherwise looks good on the surface.

Best MLB Player Props for Tuesday, April 29th

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:10 PM ET on Tuesday, April 29th:

Jacob Lopez UNDER 12.5 Outs Recorded (-155, DraftKings)

Lopez will start for the Athletics, but he’s not particularly stretched out. He threw 41 pitches on April 22nd across 1.2 innings of work, which is the last time we saw him on a mound. There is also the concern that he’s simply not going to be very effective. Lopez enters play with a meager 8% SwStr% and has consistently been falling behind in counts as well. It’s not likely that he lasts very long in this game.

Sandy Alcantara UNDER 17.5 Outs Recorded (+110, bet365)

During the last month of action, Alcantara is averaging 4 pitches per batter faced, which is not very efficient. Tonight, he has the unenviable task of facing the Dodgers lineup, which has been among the most patient groups in baseball in recent weeks. Across the last 14 days, the Dodgers rank 20th in swing% and 7th in wRC+ – a very non-ideal opponent for Alcantara to get deep into a game against. There is some value on the under here at plus money.

Jack Kochanowicz OVER 15.5 Outs Recorded (-125, bet365)

Kochanowicz has been extremely efficient on the mound of late, averaging 3.4 pitches per batter faced across the last month. Tonight, he will get to pitch in the pitcher-friendly confines of T-Mobile Park in Seattle, where the temperature is expected to be below 60 degrees at first pitch. Kochanowicz should have a great chance to work into the 6th inning if he’s even mildly effective.
