Happy Tuesday! There are 15 games on tap for this evening’s MLB slate, beginning at 6:35 p.m. ET in Baltimore. There is plenty of warm weather around the country, which could lead to an entertaining night of offense!
As always, be sure to monitor our MLB starting lineups page throughout the day, as unexpected changes in the batting order can result in value opportunities in the betting and DFS markets.
Another reminder – it’s not a bad beat, or unlucky, if you bet a player to hit a home run and his fly ball dies on the warning track because it’s 40 degrees with the wind blowing in! Before locking in any bets, use our MLB weather page, curated by Chief Meteorologist, Kevin Roth. There are countless edges to be found if we make the right reads on possible rain delays and great hitting weather, just to name a few. Taking a look at the weather report can save us from a bad bet that otherwise looks good on the surface.
Below, you can find my 3 picks for Tuesday, July 29th!

Best MLB Player Props for Tuesday, July 29
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35 PM ET on Tuesday, July 29th:
- Tanner Gordon Over/Under 15.5 Outs Recorded
- Seth Lugo Over/Under 17.5 Outs Recorded
- Colin Rea Over/Under 15.5 Outs Recorded
Tanner Gordon OVER 15.5 Outs Recorded (+120, DraftKings)

This season, Gordon has been surprisingly serviceable against left-handed batters, posting a 3.66 FIP and 0.81 WHIP. Some of that luck is undoubtedly a reflection of an unsustainable .189 BABIP, but his batted-ball profile across the platoon is significantly healthier this year than against right-handed hitters. He’s also been very efficient against lefties, averaging only 3.3 pitches per batter faced. Cleveland isn’t the most aggressive offense in baseball, but they do have 7 left-handed bats in their lineup this evening, and Colorado’s bullpen isn’t in ideal shape after last night. This could be a spot in which the Rockies look to Gordon for as much length as he can give them.
Seth Lugo UNDER 17.5 Outs Recorded (+120, DraftKings)

Lugo has completed 6 innings in 6 of his last 7 turns through the rotation, but he continues to live dangerously nonetheless. During that span, Lugo has allowed an alarming 11.9% barrel rate and more quality contact overall than the league-average pitcher. He’s continued to struggle against left-handed hitters as well, against whom he owns a 5.29 FIP and 1.30 WHIP in 2025. Tonight, he’s likely to see a pair of lefties at the top of Atlanta’s lineup, with Jurickson Profar hitting first followed by Matt Olson. It wouldn’t be surprising to see that lineup construction prompt an early hook, especially with southpaw Angel Zerpa receiving yesterday off. This is good value with Kansas City’s high-leverage unit rested.
Colin Rea UNDER 15.5 Outs Recorded (-150, DraftKings)

Tonight for the Cubs is as close to a “must-win” game that exists for a team on July 29th. The good news is they have a very rested bullpen after yesterday, so they shouldn’t have to be unnecessarily aggressive with Rea.
This season, Rea has dramatic time-through-the-order splits, with his batting average allowed jumping from .254 the second time through the order to .311 the third time through the order. He also has extremely negative splits with lefties, which could be extra incentive to get him out of this game early, with a pair of lefties likely in the top 4 of the Milwaukee batting order again. The Cubs have a pair of southpaws, Drew Pomeranz and Caleb Thielbar, who could be summoned in that situation, especially if there are guys on base.
It would be surprising to see Rea get to face more than 21 batters tonight.
