Wednesday’s 15-game slate started earlier this afternoon, but there are still 11 games left to get underway as of this writing, which means plenty of betting opportunities still on the board.
As always, be sure to monitor our MLB starting lineups page throughout the day, as unexpected changes in the batting order can result in value opportunities in the betting and DFS markets.
Another reminder – it’s not a bad beat, or unlucky, if you bet a player to hit a home run and his fly ball dies on the warning track because it’s 40 degrees with the wind blowing in! Before locking in any bets, use our MLB weather page, curated by Chief Meteorologist, Kevin Roth. There are countless edges to be found if we make the right reads on possible rain delays and great hitting weather, just to name a few. Taking a look at the weather report can save us from a bad bet that otherwise looks good on the surface.

Best MLB Player Props for Wednesday, September 3
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Wednesday, September 3rd:
- Shane Bieber Over/Under 17.5 Outs Recorded
- Matthew Liberatore Over/Under 14.5 Outs Recorded
- Adrian Houser Over/Under 15.5 Outs Recorded
Shane Bieber UNDER 17.5 Outs Recorded (+104, FanDuel)

Bieber has struggled mightily with his efficiency in 2 starts since being activated from the injured list. He recorded 18 outs on August 22 against the Marlins but only faced 21 batters. This past Friday, he needed 92 pitches to face 20 batters against the Brewers.
This evening, Bieber will face a relatively patient Cincinnati offense that has been seeing the ball well of late. Toronto’s bullpen isn’t in great shape, but they do have an extra reliever on the roster in September, so it’s still possible that Bieber doesn’t get too much longer of a leash than normal. Anything +100 or better is playable.
Matthew Liberatore OVER 14.5 Outs Recorded (-150, BetMGM)

Liberatore has allegedly been having his workload monitored since the All-Star Break, but they’ve sent him out to start the 6th inning in 2 of his last 3 starts. This past Friday against the Reds, Liberatore threw 88 pitches despite allowing 8 hits and having a rested arm barn behind him.
The Athletics have been one of the league’s most aggressive offenses against southpaws in recent weeks, which should keep Liberatore from working too many deep counts. There appears to be a clear emphasis on getting Liberatore through 5 innings when possible, giving this line good value in a favorable matchup.
Adrian Houser OVER 15.5 Outs Recorded (+106, FanDuel)

Houser only made it through 4 innings in his most recent turn through the rotation against the Nationals, but he was uncharacteristically inefficient in that start. Even if we include that outing, he’s averaging an efficient 3.6 pitches per batter faced during the last 30 days. Since being acquired by the Rays at the trade deadline, he’s faced 25+ batters in 3 of his last 5 starts, throwing 93 pitches, 94 pitches, and 93 pitches in those games.
Tonight, he gets to face a Seattle offense that is in the midst of a 9-game east coast road trip. They’ve scored 4 runs or fewer in 4 of their first 5 games on this trip, with the only exception being last night – they scored a run in the 7th inning and added another run in the 9th. This is a favorable matchup for Houser, who should have an opportunity to pitch deep into this game given that Tampa Bay used 5 relievers yesterday.
