MLB fans will be treated to a rare 16-game slate on Friday, beginning this afternoon in Chicago and ending later tonight in Hollywood. Entering the weekend, there are plenty of storylines swirling throughout the baseball community, but the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 11-game winning streak likely takes the cake. They will face the Miami Marlins this evening as they go for a dozen consecutive victories.
In the last two weeks alone, we have cashed a +758 parlay, a +837 parlay, and a +711 parlay. We nearly cashed another +940 parlay on Friday, but the Colorado Rockies blew a seventh-inning lead as +320 underdogs, losing 2-1 to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Miami Marlins Moneyline (+120)
The Miami Marlins suffered eight straight losses out of the All-Star break, but they have since rebounded to win five of their last eight contests going into the weekend. Tonight, they will hand the ball to Sandy Alcantara, who has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five of his last seven turns through the rotation. The Los Angeles Dodgers will hand the ball to Tony Gonsolin, who has allowed at least four earned runs in seven of his last 10 starts. At plus money, the Marlins are worth a small stab on the moneyline.
Luis Arraez 2+ Total Bases (+100)
Tony Gonsolin has not been particularly tough on anyone this year, which includes left-handed hitters. Ahead of the first pitch this evening, Gonsolin owns a 4.70 FIP and has allowed 14 extra-base hits to left-handed batters in 2023. Luis Arraez has hit well against everyone this year, but he has been at his best against right-handed pitching, with a .364 batting average, .889 OPS, and a 143 wRC+. Arraez could have two hits in this contest or one extra-base knock – either would get the job done for us.
Freddie Freeman 2+ Total Bases (-110)
Sandy Alcantara has struggled against left-handed batters throughout his career, and this year has been no exception. Coming into tonight, Alcantara owns a 4.03 FIP and a 1.33 WHIP across the platoon in 2023, and has allowed a .254 opponent batting average. Freddie Freeman has been seeing the ball well lately, despite a lot of hits to show for his efforts. This is a good spot to invest in Freeman, as part of today’s longshot parlay.
