Not counting the All-Star Game, we have cashed five tickets in this article, narrowly missed 13 winners, and had 11 tickets seemingly dead on arrival. Playing longshot parlays each day, these results are within the expected parameters.

In this article, we never post a ticket with shorter than +700 odds, meaning that we only need to hit once each week to be profitable, which we have achieved to date. Overall, these plays are 49-38 (56.3%) if played as straight wagers, many of which have been significant alt-lines, even as individual tickets.

MLB Parlay Piece for July 8, 2023

Los Angeles Angels -1.5 (+130)

Coming out of the All-Star break, there is arguably no team in the league with more motivation to win games than the Los Angeles Angels. Earlier in the week, rumors began to swirl about Shohei Ohtani potentially being traded at this year’s deadline if the team is unable to find its footing in the next two weeks of action. Tonight, the Angels will send Ohtani to the mound as they look to get the second half started on a high note. Playing in front of their home fans, trust the Angels to get the job done here, perhaps by a comfortable margin.

Anthony Rendon 2+ Total Bases (+150)

Anthony Rendon has seen his career derailed by injuries, but he has still been a high-contact hitter, despite his fall from stardom. Tonight, this gives him the opportunity to put together a good performance against J.P. France, who owns an abysmal 6.12 FIP and has allowed a .257 opponent batting average to right-handed batters in 2023. At significant plus-money, this is a worthwhile inclusion in today’s longshot parlay.

J.P. France 5+ strikeouts (-200)

According to props.cash, J.P. France has only hit this market number four times in 11 starts this year. However, he has an extremely favorable matchup against the Los Angeles Angels tonight, which rank 25th in strikeout percentage against right-handed pitching since June 15. France also has much better strikeout numbers against left-handed batters than right-handed batters, which is likely to benefit him against a Los Angeles lineup that could feature as many as six lefties. This alt-number is reachable in this spot.
