Friday’s MLB action begins at 6:40 p.m. EST in Miami, but there are 14 other games on the slate, many of which are attractive options for the betting community. Perhaps the most interesting matchup of the day from a betting perspective will be the last game to get started – tonight in San Francisco.

Not counting the All-Star Game, we have cashed five tickets in this article, narrowly missed 18 winners, and had 16 tickets seemingly dead on arrival. Playing longshot parlays each day, these results are within the parameters of what is expected.

In this article, we never post a ticket with shorter than +700 odds, meaning that we only need to hit once each week to be profitable. Overall, these plays are 61-52-1 (55.0%) if played as straight wagers, many of which have been significant alt-lines, even as individual tickets.

Below, we break down our favorite longshot (+700) look for July 28, focusing on today’s matchup between the Boston Red Sox and San Francisco Giants!

MLB Parlay Piece for July 28, 2023

Boston Red Sox Moneyline (+110)

The Boston Red Sox continue to be one of the most underrated teams in all of baseball. Going into the weekend, Boston is in fourth place in the American League East division, but they own the 8th-best run differential of any team in the league. The San Francisco Giants are in second place in the National League West division but have been much closer to mediocre than their inflated record currently suggests. The wrong team is favored in this matchup.

Rafael Devers 3+ Total Bases (+225)

Rafael Devers has not had an MVP-caliber season, but he has still been plenty good against both right- and left-handed pitching. Entering play on Friday, Devers has 17 home runs and 13 doubles against right-handed pitchers this year. Tonight, he gets to face Logan Webb, who has allowed at least five earned runs in two of his last five turns through the rotation. This is a worthwhile inclusion in today’s longshot parlay.

Kutter Crawford 6+ Strikeouts (+100)

This number may seem high for Kutter Crawford, judging by the fact that he has only hit this mark three times in 19 tries during the 2023 season. However, he has an exceptionally favorable matchup today, facing the San Francisco Giants, which have struck out at the third-highest rate of any team against right-handed pitching during the month of July. According to props.cash, 10 of the last 14 right-handed pitchers to face the Giants have amassed at least six punch outs.
