Friday’s MLB action began earlier this afternoon with a matchup between the Cleveland Guardians and Chicago Cubs. Still, there are 13 games left to get underway as of this writing, giving the betting community plenty of time to find action to lock in before heading out to start the weekend.
Since we began posting this article, we have had 10 near misses, four cashed tickets, and six parlays that were seemingly dead on arrival – nothing unexpected when consistently betting parlays.
In this article, we never post a ticket with shorter than +700 odds, meaning that we only need to hit once each week to be profitable, which we have achieved to date. Overall, these plays are 35-24 (59.3%) if played as straight wagers, many of which have been significant alt-lines, even as individual tickets.
Below, we break down our favorite longshot (+923) look for June 30, focusing on today’s matchup between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Seattle Mariners!

MLB Parlay Piece for June 30, 2023
- Shane McClanahan o6.5 Strikeouts
- Wander Franco 3+ Total Bases
- Tampa Bay Rays -1.5
Shane McClanahan o6.5 Strikeouts (-118)
During the month of June, only four teams have struck out more often against left-handed pitching than the Seattle Mariners. According to props.cash, two of the last three southpaws to face the Mariners have easily eclipsed their market number – Patrick Corbin had nine strikeouts on June 28 and Patrick Sandoval had eight strikeouts on June 10. Shane McClanahan has eclipsed this market number in seven of his last 14 turns through the rotation, with only four starts of fewer than six strikeouts in that span. In a favorable matchup, he should have every opportunity to hit the over.
Wander Franco 3+ Total Bases (+250)
According to props.cash, Wander Franco has had at least three total bases in two of his last five games played. Facing right-handed pitching in 2023, Franco owns an impressive .283 batting average, .799 OPS, and a 124 wRC+. Bryce Miller has put together a strong rookie campaign to date, but he has been vulnerable against left-handed hitters – posting a 4.71 FIP and allowing a .241 opponent batting average. Do not be surprised if Franco has a big night at the dish on Friday.
Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 (+132)
Ahead of first pitch on Friday, the Tampa Bay Rays own the best record in Major League Baseball at 56-28. The Seattle Mariners are a disappointing 38-41 and on the outside looking in at the playoff picture. During June, the Mariners have been particularly poor against left-handed pitching, ranking 12th in OPS, 24th in ISO, 27th in BB%, and 26th in K%. Facing one of the toughest southpaws in the league tonight, runs are likely to be at a premium for Seattle to begin the weekend. In contrast, the Rays have annihilated fastball-reliant right-handed pitching in 2023. This game could turn into a rout.
