MLB Parlay Piece for August 30, 2023
- Ronald Acuna Jr. to Record a Hit
- Sean Murphy 2+ Total Bases
- Matt Olson 2+ Total Bases
- Marcell Ozuna 4+ Total Bases
Ronald Acuna Jr. to Record a Hit (-550)
According to props.cash, Ronald Acuna Jr. has collected at least one base knock in 100 of his l31 games played in 2023. Today, he gets to face Kyle Freeland, who has allowed a .312 opponent batting average to right-handed hitters this season. It is exceedingly rare to see a player with such juiced odds to get a hit, but it is warranted in this situation.
Sean Murphy 2+ Total Bases (-135)
Since July 15, Sean Murphy owns a 1.086 OPS against southpaws. During that stretch, he has a .308 batting average with half of his hits going for extra bases, in an admittedly small sample size. On the season, Murphy has been Atlanta’s second-most productive hitter against left-handed pitching, lending credibility to his most recent numbers. He is well-positioned for a big day today.
Matt Olson 2+ Total Bases (-170)
In his last 42 plate appearances against left-handed pitching, Matt Olson owns a 1.395 OPS, .514 ISO, and an incredulous 247 wRC+. Today, he has a favorable matchup at Coors Field against Kyle Freeland, who has allowed at least three earned runs in 10 of his last 11 trips to the mound. Olson is a worthwhile inclusion in Wednesday’s longshot parlay.
Marcell Ozuna 4+ Total Bases (+170)
The baseball looks more like a beach ball to Marcell Ozuna right now, who has a .500 batting average, 1.759 OPS, and 355 wRC+ since August 21. He has another outstanding matchup on Wednesday against Kyle Freeland, who has allowed 48 extra-base hits to right-handed batters in 2023. It would not be surprising to see Ozuna leave the yard this evening.
