Core Plays LIVE: NBA DFS Picks for Friday, November 15th
A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career and has long been one of the top NBA DFS minds in the industry. On weekends, Taylor Smith takes the reins. Their Core Plays LIVE article will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, Core Plays LIVE has everything you need for your DraftKings and FanDuel lineups.
Happy Friday!
The weekend is finally here. It’s been a strange schedule for the NBA this week, as we only had a single game last night. We have 12 games on tap this evening. As usual, FanDuel and DraftKings are offering different-sized main slates. FanDuel has all 12 games on its slate, while DraftKings only has the first 10 games on its slate. While it makes it a little tougher in the content world, having more choices is always a positive.
We have a lot to get to today, so let’s dive right into the team previews. I always love hearing from RotoGrinders members, so shoot me a DM on Twitter or in the RG Discord at any time.

News Updates
1:50 PM ET – Nikola Jokic has been ruled out. This changes the entire slate. Aaron Gordon is also out for the Nuggets. Zeke Nnaji and DeAndre Jordan should split the minutes at center and are both interesting values (I’ll side with the starter), Jamal Murray and Michael Porter should see major upticks in usage, Russell Westbrook and Christian Braun should both see an uptick in minutes and/or usage, and Peyton Watson could be asked to play even more minutes at power forward. I’ll have a ton of exposure to the Nuggets and as noted below, this now becomes my favorite game to stack on the slate.
Team Previews
Philadelphia 76ers (at ORL)
The Sixers will have Joel Embiid and Paul George back in the lineup. Tyrese Maxey is still out, while Andre Drummond is listed as questionable. The Sixers have a brutal draw against the Magic, who are 1st in points allowed per game this season. Embiid will likely still be on a minute restriction, which makes him an easy fade. Rookie Jared McCain has been tremendous over his last 3 games, averaging 41 fantasy points per contest. He’s worth a look in tournaments. Paul George has had a 30% usage rate this season and is slightly underpriced on FanDuel ($7,400).
Orlando Magic (vs. PHI)
The Sixers have been a decent matchup for fantasy production this season, but that’s largely because Joel Embiid has only played in 1 game. I expect this to be a below-average matchup moving forward. Paolo Banchero and Wendell Carter are still out. Here’s who stands to benefit the most in their absence:
There’s not a lot that stands out in projections, but Franz Wagner has scored at least 46 fantasy points in 4 of his last 5 games and rarely garners much ownership.
