Core Plays LIVE: NBA DFS Picks for Friday, November 22nd
A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career and has long been one of the top NBA DFS minds in the industry. On weekends, Taylor Smith takes the reins. Their Core Plays LIVE article will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, Core Plays LIVE has everything you need for your DraftKings and FanDuel lineups.
Happy Friday!
I asked ChatGPT to write a funny introduction to this article about the weekend and basketball. I have to say, it nailed it:
Ah, Friday in the DFS world—it’s like the fourth quarter of the week, and your lineup is ready to either make you a fantasy basketball hero or leave you in the dust. After a week of grinding through injury reports, analyzing matchups, and chasing those value plays, Friday is when everything comes together—or falls apart in a blaze of glory. Whether you’re stacking up on star players in a high-scoring game or hoping your sleeper picks hit like a 3-pointer at the buzzer, Friday’s slate is where the real action happens. The weekend’s almost here, so it’s time to throw some money on the line, trust your gut, and pray that your “gut calls” aren’t just blind luck. After all, when the lineup hits, it’s the ultimate victory, but if it doesn’t? Well, you’ll have plenty of time to sulk over the weekend.
We have 8 games on the schedule. There aren’t any teams playing on the second half of a back-to-back, but 8 teams are playing on the front end (Warriors, Bucks, Bulls, Blazers, Rockets, Nuggets). As ChatGPT mentioned, Friday is when everything comes together (or falls apart in a blaze of glory). Both FanDuel and DraftKings have an 8-game main slate, so we don’t have to differentiate between the two sites regarding strategy. As always, I will be updating the “News Updates” section through lineup lock. Let’s have ourselves a great slate heading into the weekend.

News Updates
1:30 PM ET – C.J. McCollum has been ruled out. Brandon Ingram and Jordan Hawkins will both play. Yves Missi is still listed as questionable.
Team Previews
Brooklyn Nets (at PHI)
Bojan Bogdanovic and Day’Ron Sharpe are still out for the Nets, but they should have the rest of their key players available. A matchup against the Sixers is not a favorable one, and it doesn’t help that the game is being played in Philadelphia. The Nets have the lowest total on the board at 104.5 points. There’s not a single player on the roster with a positive RGValue or an Opto% above 10% in LineupHQ. Next!
Philadelphia 76ers (vs. BKN)
Paul George and Kyle Lowry have both been ruled out, while Joel Embiid is listed as questionable. A matchup against the Nets isn’t particularly good or bad, as they are dead last in both pace of play and defensive rating. The Sixers are used to playing at a slow pace, so this matchup might benefit them more than you’d expect. Despite missing one of their best players (potentially two), the Sixers have a team total that is 5.6 points higher than their season average.
If Embiid is active, he becomes a strong option in all formats after scoring a season-high 56 fantasy points in his last game. If he ends up being out, Jared McCain, Cody Martin, and Guerschon Yabusele will all become strong options. We only have Tyrese Maxey projected for 28 minutes, which limits his appeal. He only logged 19 minutes in his first game back from injury.
