Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a great weekend. I’m happy to report that my little family of two is officially a sizable family of four. We officially moved my girlfriend and her son in over the weekend. It was one of those experiences where I was reminded of how lucky I am. Not only are they the best, but so many people showed up to help and were so excited for us. Here in a couple of months, we’ll have a family of five. I’m also extremely fortunate to do what I love for a living, so I appreciate all of the amazing members here at RotoGrinders.
I was ready to ease into the week with a small slate, but the NBA DFS gods did not oblige. There are 12 games on the schedule. To complicate matters, 11 of the 24 teams in action are playing on the second half of a back-to-back. Buckle up because it will be an extremely busy day of injury news. The good news is that both FanDuel and DraftKings have decided to leave the final 2 games off of their respective main slates.
For golf fans out there, it’s THE PLAYERS Championship week. Even if you aren’t a golf fan, the DFS contests and payouts are huge. Make sure to check out all of our content at RotoGrinders throughout the week.
Let’s dive into the team previews.

Team Previews
Philadelphia 76ers (at ATL)
We kick off the slate with the Sixers, who draw one of the best matchups on the slate. It’s a dark time when your team is listed as a 9.5-point underdog against the Hawks, but let’s not focus on the negative. The Sixers have a team total that is 1 point higher than their season average. They have yet to submit an injury report but are expected to be without Joel Embiid, Paul George, Kyle Lowry, and Eric Gordon.
The Sixers aren’t a team that I like to trust on large slates, but Andre Drummond should start and has elite per-minute production. This is certainly a ceiling type of matchup. Kelly Oubre should dominate usage, especially if Tyrese Maxey is unable to suit up. The same goes for Quentin Grimes. I would try to get some exposure to the Sixers if you are playing multiple lineups.
Atlanta Hawks (vs. PHI)
The Hawks are rarely this large of favorites and come into the game with a team total that is 2 points higher than their season average. The Sixers may not play at a fast pace, but they are bottom 5 in both rebounding rate and defensive rating. Jalen Johnson and Larry Nance have been ruled out, while Trae Young and Vit Krejci are listed as questionable.
If Young is active, he’s worth a look in large-field tournaments. If he is ruled out, Dyson Daniels would become a core play. He sees a 7% usage boost and a large FP/minute boost with Young and Johnson off the floor. Caris LeVert would also see an uptick in minutes and usage. Even if Young is active, we can look to Onyeka Okongwu in tournaments, as he’ll square off against a shorthanded Sixers’ frontcourt.
