What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. My plan tonight is to stack the DAL/UTA game. The Jazz are without Jusuf Nurkic and have a high implied team total at home, while the Mavericks draw the best matchup on the slate. If Anthony Davis is out, there will be 5-6 Mavericks with positive RGValues in our NBA DFS projections. To take advantage of the uncertainty with their point guard situation, I am going to build 2 lineups – 1 with Ryan Nembhard and 1 with Brandon Williams.
headChopper: I prefer smaller-field GPPs that have limited entries for this slate. I’m running multiple lineups and spreading them across the smaller fields. I like the strategy of building a mini game stack in each lineup, featuring the best plays from each side at a minimum of one player from each team. For example, a lineup with Nikola Jokic and Alperen Sengun or another lineup with Cade Cunningham and Jaylen Brown. Long story short, I’m prioritizing correlation on this smaller slate.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field tournaments, and I’ll likely go all in playing a ton of both sides of the DAL/UTA game. There will be a lot of chalky pieces, but I plan to game-stack this in as many variations as I possibly can. For the most part, I’ll build around Keyonte George and the cheap options on both sides as opposed to spend-ups like Lauri Markkanen and Cooper Flagg.
Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
