NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, November 4
Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?
tcsmith031: Jayson Tatum
headChopper: Jayson Tatum
Dean78904: Jayson Tatum
ncorfield8k: Jayson Tatum
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
tcsmith031: I’m fine with playing my usual mix of 20-max and single-entry GPPs on the manageable DraftKings slate, but I’ll play just a few single entries on FanDuel’s 15-game bonanza. One rule I’m planning to set on both sites is to limit myself to no more than 2 Wizards players per GPP lineup. Several of these guys project well with Kyle Kuzma out, but I don’t want to get too focused on one team with so many options available elsewhere.
headChopper: I am going to play 150 lineups in large-field, 150-max contests. The most expensive and highest-projected players on the slate are topping out slightly above 55 projected points, with a cluster of players in that range. So, tonight seems like a good time to go for mid-range builds and hope the high-end players don’t exceed their projections by much. I’ll look at the lower-owned guys in that high range (once ownership projections are updated closer to tip-off) and play those players instead of whatever the chalk ends up being in that range.

Dean78904: My focus today will predominantly be on single-entry and 3-entry max contests. My current focus is to make the slate smaller. I love Boston and expect to play multiple Celtics in every lineup. The bigger questions I have are: 1) How many Celtics are too many Celtics, and 2) Do I need an Atlanta bring-back if I have so much Boston? I’m open to the idea of four, but I don’t expect to have more than three Celtics in a lineup. As for forcing an Atlanta player in lineups, I’m considering the idea of paying up for Trae Young or a lesser Hawk, but that is too early to say with so much news flow still up in the air. Besides Boston, I’m excited about the Bulls taking on the lowly Jazz. Zach LaVine (currently questionable) and Nikola Vucevic are my two favorite Chicago targets, with Keyonte George and Walker Kessler being my top Utah targets.
ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – This is the perfect slate to really focus on late swapping. Games are starting every 15 minutes, and there is a Monday Night Football game – the field will not late-swap enough. If a player gets ruled out in a late game, that affects what we’ll want to do in earlier games, so the key will be constantly updating lineups throughout the night to reflect the news. With so many games on FanDuel, it’s also important to identify “good” value chalk vs. “bad” value chalk in early games and really try to avoid bad chalk and hold out for value opening up later.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
