NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, January 18

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

tcsmith031: Stephen Curry
Krayton: Stephen Curry
ncorfield8k: Stephen Curry
TJ Zwarych: Jayson Tatum

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

tcsmith031: I’ll stick with 20-max GPPs. Every game on this slate features at least a little blowout risk, as the smallest spread is 6.5 points in CLE/MIN. As a result, I’ll try my best to limit exposure to some of the more expensive pieces on major underdogs, like the Wizards and Hawks. I’d also like to get heavier exposure to the Rockets, who aren’t projected to be overly popular despite a favorable matchup at Portland.

Krayton: I will be playing single-entry and 3-entry-max contests, and I am looking to go overweight on Houston, who gets a great matchup against Portland. Jalen Green, Amen Thompson, Alperen Sengun, and Fred VanVleet are all guys I want exposure to, along with Shaedon Sharpe on the Portland side. Green and Thompson are two guys I will be building around, as their usage in this offense is elite.

ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – Much of how I play will come down to which Celtics are in. Al Horford, Kristaps Porzingis, and Jayson Tatum are all currently questionable. If all sit, several Celtics will become priorities (starting with Luke Kornet and Jaylen Brown) in a great matchup. If just one of the group sits, I will still likely have increased interest in other Celtics. If all are active, I will take an underweight approach to the game and lean more into other games, primarily PHI/IND.

TJ Zwarych: I will be playing single-entry tournaments, with plans to be overweight on both the Rockets and Celtics. If Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis are out, the Celtics will project great, and they are in a wonderful matchup against the Hawks. Alperen Sengun, Amen Thompson, and Jalen Green are my top targets on the Rockets.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
