NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, October 24

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

tcsmith031: Nikola Jokic (FD) / Joel Embiid (DK)
Notorious: Joel Embiid
TJ Zwarych: Nikola Jokic (FD) / Joel Embiid (DK)

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents in the tournaments you will be playing? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

tcsmith031: I’ll focus on single-entry tournaments. I’ll eat a couple of chalk DAL value pieces (likely Marcus Sasser and Naji Marshall), but I’m nervous enough about the potential blowout that I’m not too keen on running it back with any of the more expensive Spurs. I’d rather prioritize paying up for some of the players in games that look more competitive, including WAS, ATL, and HOU on DK. Things will also clear up a bit for the Sixers if LeBron James (Q) sits out.

Notorious: Once again, we have differently sized slates on DraftKings and FanDuel. With the Warriors expected to rest players, I want to get as much exposure to them as possible on FanDuel. In my main lineup that I will enter into small-field tournaments, I am going to lock in Brandon Williams, De’Anthony Melton, and Yaxel Lendeborg. On DraftKings, I want to be overweight on the Wizards. I know they are playing on the second half of a back-to-back, but Anthony Davis and Trae Young are underpriced for their roles in this offense, and I love their matchup against the Bulls.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups on DraftKings and trying out a single-entry team in the new format on FanDuel. On FanDuel, I’ll play Nikola Jokic and Victor Wembanyama together in the same lineup, relying on the cheap plays from Golden State and Dallas. On DraftKings, while the Dallas value will be quite chalky, I’ll load up with at least 3 Mavericks in every lineup. I’ll use the savings from that to get the expensive pieces from WAS, CHI, PHI, and Victor Wembanyama.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
