What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: As always, you will find me in small-field and single-entry GPPs. My biggest stance tonight is to fade the Nuggets as a whole. Jamal Murray is priced up, Michael Porter has been awful, Aaron Gordon is volatile, and it’s tougher for Nikola Jokic to reach 6-7x his salary than it is for the likes of Kawhi Leonard, Cade Cunningham, Jalen Brunson, and Karl-Anthony Towns.
headChopper: I’m going to hand-build 20 lineups and play them in large-field GPPs. It’s tough to get different on a 2-game slate where minutes are mostly predictable, especially 5 games deep into a playoff series against the same teams. So, for me, it boils down to being overweight on a player I think is going to come in under-owned and underweight on a chalky option I think will underperform. In this case, that means being over the field on Nikola Jokic and under the field on Michael Porter.
tcsmith031: I’ll focus on single-entry GPPs. My plan as of now is to roll with a balanced build and hope that Nikola Jokic fails to put up a slate-breaking score. The lack of appealing cheap value makes it difficult to comfortably pay for Jokic, and as usual, the midrange is stacked with underpriced stars in Cade Cunningham, Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, and Karl-Anthony Towns. Coming in under the field on Jokic isn’t fun, but I think it’s the best way to build for this slate.
