Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Notorious: Jalen Johnson – The Hawks have already ruled out Trae Young and Kristaps Porzingis, which is good for the usage and rebounding upside of Johnson. He has scored at least 50 fantasy points in 10 of his last 11 games and has topped 70 fantasy points in 2 of his last 3 games. While the Clippers play at a slow pace, they are bottom 10 in the league in rebounding rate, 3-point percentage allowed, defensive rating, and points allowed per game.

Dean78904: Nic Claxton – The fast-paced Bulls are an excellent matchup for Claxton’s skill set, as they yield the 6th-most rebounds per game while also giving up the most points in the paint this season. Additionally, the Bulls gift the 7th-most steals and are the most-blocked team in the league. 69% of Claxton’s points come from the paint, and he is well-positioned for a double-double with stocks upside. There are many appealing centers on this slate, and of course I’d love to get to Nikola Jokic, but salary considered, Claxton is one of, if not my favorite, plays on the board.

ncorfield8k: Anthony Davis – Davis played 32 minutes in his second game back from injury, and the minutes could continue to climb, especially in a home game with a relatively close spread (5.5). It’s a nice matchup with the Heat, who play at the fastest pace in the league and rank 24th in rebound rate. It’s also the 8th-best matchup for Versatile Bigs in our Defense vs. Archetype tool.

Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
