What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field and single-entry tournaments. The key of the slate for me is how you are going to react to the Ja Morant injury news. He was able to return to the game after rolling his ankle the other night, but those injuries can often swell up after the game. I’m going into it with the thought that he’ll be limited or even get ruled out. I want to be overweight on the other Memphis players.
headChopper: I am multi-entering several lineups in the large-field flagship GPPs. I’ll be overweight on a few players I like, such as Anthony Davis and Dyson Daniels. I’ll be underweight on Klay Thompson and Desmond Bane. From there, I’ll mix up roster construction to get a bit different—some rosters will leave extra salary on the table and some will be game stacks.
tcsmith031: I’ll dip my toes into the 20-max and single-entry waters tonight. There’s some uncertainty with the Dallas rotation after Spencer Dinwiddie was almost a DNP against the Kings. They started Naji Marshall in his place, while Brandon Williams logged most of the backup point guard minutes. I plan on rolling the dice on Williams as a lower-owned value play in tournaments, as he was a productive per-minute producer (1.06) when given the opportunity to play during the regular season. Cheap value is hard to come by on these slates, and I don’t think the projected ownership reflects Williams’s potential upside.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
