Want to hit the nuts and take down 1st place in these massive contests posted by FanDuel and DraftKings? Who better to walk you through their favorite NBA DFS picks than Squirrelpatrol! Undoubtedly one of the best DFS players in the game today, Squirrelpatrol has accumulated 90+ Live Final seats, won the FanDuel 2021 World Fantasy Basketball Championship for $500,000, and most recently, took down the NFL Milly Maker in Week 2. Should we roster the chalk picks? How off-the-board should we get in large-field tournaments? Squirrel answers all of these questions and more below!
The chaotic schedule created by the NBA In-Season Tournament starts to settle this week, and tonight, we have a medium-sized 5-game slate, with the first two games tipping off at 7:30 PM. The Lakers visit the Mavericks in Dallas, and the Cavaliers travel to Boston to face the Celtics in the first two games of the night, followed by the Nuggets in Chicago to face the Bulls in the only game at 8:00 PM. The late window features the Warriors facing the Suns in Phoenix at 10:00 PM, followed by the Kings in Los Angeles facing the Clippers at 10:30 PM.
Injury situations are scattered throughout the slate, particularly in the early games. Luka Doncic, Tim Hardaway, and Derrick Jones are listed as questionable for the Mavs, which is a major situation with Kyrie Irving already listed out. Anthony Davis is questionable for the Lakers, and LeBron James is carrying his usual questionable designation. Evan Mobley is out again for Cleveland, while Caris LeVert is listed as questionable. In the middle game, Jamal Murray and Alex Caruso are both listed as questionable for the Nuggets and Bulls respectively. In the late window games, Kevin Durant and Grayson Allen are out while Bradley Beal should return for the Suns. It could be another frantic hour leading up to slate lock, so make sure you are available to be on top of the injury news as teams announce their lineups in the 30 minutes or so before lock.
Let’s sort through the slate and figure out what to do with our DFS lineups.
NBA DFS Picks: Lineup Advice for Squirrelpatrol’s ‘Hittin’ The Nuts’ (December 12th)
High Flyers
Who are the players I’m picking first for my squad? These guys are the first selections for both my cash game and tournament lineups, and I’ll sacrifice elsewhere, if need be, to ensure I get them in:
Kawhi Leonard
FanDuel: $8,700
DraftKings: $8,000

Kawhi is currently my top spend-up on both sites and while injury news may shake up the slate, he should remain a mainstay in my lineups as the injury news more impacts which value pieces I put around him. On the season, Kawhi averages 23 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game, but in the last 7 games, he has averaged 28.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4 assists. His last 6 games against Sacramento have been even better, averaging 31.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.2 assists, including a game with 56 fantasy points against them two weeks ago.
