Core Plays LIVE: NBA DFS Picks for Friday, March 29th

A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and Noto will mix it up in all different types of contests. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.
Happy Friday!
Last night was a great example of a thought out gameplan that goes horribly wrong. With only 2 games on the schedule and with one of them featuring a 17-point spread, I decided to fade it completely for DFS outside of a couple of value plays on the Hawks. Atlanta was shorthanded and playing in the second half of a back-to-back. Unfortunately, the Celtics didn’t bring their best, and the Hawks ended up winning the game at home. Dejounte Murray took a season-high 44 shot attempts. My plays from the MIL/NOP were all solid, but I was dead in the water after my fade of all the stars in the first game. I don’t think it was a bad strategy, but it didn’t work out this time.
We now turn our attention to Friday’s schedule. There are 12 games on the docket this evening. FanDuel is rolling out a 9-game main slate (leaving the final 3 games off), and DraftKings is rolling out a 10-game main slate (leaving the final 2 games off). I wish DraftKings would have rolled out their no late swap slates a little earlier in the season, as it doesn’t seem like they were much of a hit. With so many injuries and late scratches, it’s hard to roll out those slates at this stage of the season. For the rest of the way, we can expect to see late swap contests. We have a lot of games to cover, so let’s dive into the slate.
Cheers to the weekend.

Team Previews
Detroit Pistons (at WAS): The Pistons have lost 8 games in a row and thanks to the Wizards, they now own the worst record in the NBA. Tonight they square off against the Wizards in a battle of the beatens. Both of these teams play at a slow pace and struggle on the defensive end of the floor. If the game stays competitive, it should be one of the best environments on the slate. The Pistons have a team total that is a point higher than their season average. In addition to all of the players who have missed the last couple of weeks still being out, Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, and Marcus Sasser are all listed as questionable. Jalen Duren projects as a strong play at center, while I will take a wait-and-see approach with the rest of the roster. If Cunningham and/or Ivey are out, we’ll have a lot of value to choose from in this backcourt.
Washington Wizards (vs. DET): The Wizards have won 4 of their last 10 games, and barring something unexpected, they will end the season with the 2nd-worst record in the league. Tonight they host the Pistons, who are 9th in pace and 27th in defensive rating. The Wizards are 4-point favorites and have a team total that is 2.1 points above their season average. Richaun Holmes, Tyus Jones, Eugene Omoruyi, and Bilal Coulibaly are all out tonight. If we trust the Wizards to keep their usual rotation, it’s hard not to like Kyle Kuzma, Deni Avdija, Jordan Poole, and Marvin Bagley. All four project as some of the best plays at their respective positions. If choosing a favorite, Kuzma has topped 40 fantasy points in 11 of his last 14 games.
