A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and Noto will mix it up in all different types of contests. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.

Happy Friday!

I actually mean it this time because the weekend is finally here. It’s starting to warm up in my neck of the woods; March Madness is around the corner, it’s my favorite stretch of the golf season, spring training is underway for the MLB, and the NBA is making the final push to the playoffs. Life is good at the moment. As for tonight, we have 8 games on the schedule. FanDuel and DraftKings are both rolling out a 6-game main slate and a 2-game late slate. We have two teams playing in the second back of a back-to-back (Wolves, Heat) and two teams playing in the front half of a back-to-back (Hornets, Blazers).

I finally finished Season 2 of True Detectives. It wasn’t as bad as everyone made it out to be, but it certainly wasn’t as good as Season 1. My issue was that there wasn’t a single antagonist in the show. It was just a constant string of bad people. Anyway, I’m not sure what’s next on my show list. I hear Season 3 is good, but I also want to give Fargo and Suits a try. I’m also starting my laminate floor tonight, so we’ll see how that goes. YouTube is a great place to learn, but I have a feeling I will run into a problem that I don’t know how to solve. Wish me luck. If all goes well, I should be an inspiration to all the other non-handy people out there. If I can do it, anyone can do it.

Team Previews

New Orleans Pelicans (at PHI): We kick off the main slate with the Pelicans, who have won 7 of their last 10 games. They have been just as good on the road as they have been at home and draw a better matchup than it might look on paper. With Joel Embiid on the floor this season, the Sixers have been in the bottom 10 in defensive rating. The Pelicans come into the game as 8-point favorites and have a total that is close to their season average. Dyson Daniels is still out, but everyone else should be available. Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, and CJ McCollum all project reasonably well but are far from core plays on this slate. We’ll have to look elsewhere for value.

Philadelphia 76ers (vs. NOP): The Sixers have lost 6 of their last 10 games and have dropped to 7th in the Eastern Conference standings. They draw a below-average matchup tonight against the Pelicans, who are 16th in pace and 6th in defensive rating. With Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and De’Anthony Melton all out again, the Sixers have a total that is 10.1 points below their season average. Kyle Lowry will be back in the lineup, which should send Cam Payne back to the bench. Neither player projects very well in the context of tonight’s slate. Tobias Harris hasn’t done much with his increased opportunity, but Kelly Oubre has topped 35 fantasy points in 3 straight games. He’s my favorite target here, but I suppose Paul Reed and Buddy Hield can be added to your player pool if you are MME’ing the slate.
