Core Plays LIVE: NBA DFS Picks for Sunday, November 30th

A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career. Taylor Smith takes over on weekends. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best plays, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.
Hello! I’m writing this while looking up into the sky at a couple of hot air balloons soaring overhead. I looked into hot air balloon rides the other day because I had family coming into town for the holiday and was trying to find something to do. I ultimately decided against it, just because hot air balloons look pretty easy to fall out of. That probably would’ve ruined Thanksgiving.
We’re looking at split slates yet again on DraftKings and FanDuel tonight. DraftKings’ main docket is a 5-gamer tipping a little earlier than usual at 6 PM ET, while FanDuel is including MEM/SAC and NOP/LAL, which both get underway after 9:00. Let’s go.

Team Previews

Toronto Raptors (at NYK)
The Raptors have been among the most pleasant surprises this season, as they enter tonight’s clash with the Knicks at 14-6. They are 8-point underdogs in this one, however, so I guess oddsmakers aren’t buying what they’re selling just yet. RJ Barrett is still out, while Jakob Poeltl is doubtful.
We’re projecting Collin Murray-Boyles to step into Poeltl’s starting spot, though we’ve got Sandro Mamukelashvili projected for 8 more minutes off the bench. CMB isn’t really on my radar given his limited minutes lately, though Mamu (1.1 FP/minute) is an excellent value at $4,500 on FD and $4,300 on DK. It’s easier to play him on DK where he’s eligible at power forward.
All of Immanuel Quickley (+3.7%), Scottie Barnes (+3.5%), and Brandon Ingram (+2.6%) have been seeing elevated usage sans RJ. Barnes typically boasts the highest ceiling, while IQ and BI are high-floor options. I think the matchup sets up the best for Quickley, as the Knicks are a 3-point funnel defense under Mike Brown. Jamal Shead and Ja’Kobe Walter are cheap, but I just don’t think this is the spot to get super deep into the Toronto side.
New York Knicks (vs. TOR)
The Knicks are 12-6 to begin the season, and they have a healthy 120 total at home vs. Toronto. OG Anunoby and Landry Shamet are out, which opens up a starting spot and some minutes on the wings. I like the spot for Jalen Brunson, who has seen a slight usage boost without Anunoby (+1.5%), and he continues to play heavy minutes on a nightly basis. The issue is Brunson is rarely topping 50 fantasy points, though he’s also not projecting for a ton of ownership as of this morning. It’s a tougher spot for Karl-Anthony Towns, who probably gets shadowed by Barnes in this one. The Raptors have also been excellent in terms of protecting the paint, so KAT will need his outside shots to fall if he’s going to get there. I prefer Brunson between them.
Toronto is also an excellent transition defense, so it doesn’t really set up as a Mikal Bridges spot either. Bridges never feels like a great click when he’s over $7,000 to begin with. Miles McBride is worth keeping in a player pool at a cheap salary, but he just doesn’t generate tons of usage when he starts. Josh Hart has been on a tear of late, but we’re also paying top dollar for him these days. I think he’s a better play than Bridges, but I’d still rather look elsewhere.
Boston Celtics (at CLE)
