NBA DFS Core Plays LIVE: Wednesday, November 22nd

Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.
There are no games on Thanksgiving, which means we have a massive slate on tap this evening. All but two teams will be in action on Tuesday. I was going to go into a diatribe on people that complain about eating turkey, but I already covered that in the NFL Key Personnel article for the Thanksgiving slate.
Instead, let’s take a more positive path in this article. Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful and I have a lot to be thankful for. I’m thankful for this industry that has allowed me to talk about sports for a living, I’m thankful to RotoGrinders for giving me a platform and supporting me for more than 10 years, and I’m thankful to anyone that has ever consumed any of my content.
Enough of the sappy stuff, let’s dive into tonight’s 14-game slate.

Team Previews
Denver Nuggets (at ORL): The Nuggets are 10-4 on the season, but all four of those losses have come on the road. They have a tough matchup this evening, as the Magic are 7th or better in rebounding rate, three-point percentage allowed, points allowed, and defensive rating. This is pretty simple for me — it’s Nikola Jokic or bust. I’m usually looking at Michael Porter and/or Aaron Gordon with Jamal Murray out, but not on this slate.
Orlando Magic (vs. DEN): The Magic are playing in the second half of a back-to-back and will be without Markelle Fultz and Wendell Carter once again. They have a tough draw against the Nuggets, who are 27th in pace and 7th in defensive rating. Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero have been solid mid-range options on smaller slates, but it’s hard to justify playing them over some of the other options tonight. The Magic are likely a full fade for me.
