NBA Player Props, December 30, 2022
- Jordan Poole o26.5 points
- Jerami Grant u23.5 points
- Malik Beasley o12.5 points
Jordan Poole o26.5 points (-105)
Jordan Poole has gone under this market number in four of his last five games, but it has not been due to a lack of involvement in the offense. In those five contests, Poole is averaging 20.4 shot attempts and has not attempted fewer than 17 shots in any individual affair. His lack of scoring has been tied to uncharacteristic inefficiency from the floor, hitting only 19.6% of his shots from beyond-the-arc in that span. Tonight, Poole has a favorable matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers, which rank 15th in defensive efficiency during the month of December. Per Court IQ, Poole is still averaging 28.2 points per 36 minutes this season when Stephen Curry is off of the floor – expect Poole to have every opportunity for a bounce-back performance in this spot.
Jerami Grant u23.5 points (-120)
Per props.cash, Jerami Grant has only eclipsed this number in 3-of-9 games since December 9. Grant’s reduced role within the offense has coincided almost perfectly with the return of Damian Lillard, who is the highest usage player on the Portland Trail Blazers. According to Court IQ, Grant is averaging only 19.5 points per 36 minutes this season when Lillard is on the floor, compared to 25.0 points per 36 minutes when Lillard is on the sidelines. Even playing a mediocre Golden State defense, this market number is simply too high for a player with Grant’s current volume.
Malik Beasley o12.5 points (-110)
In contrast to Grant, Malik Beasley’s market number for this evening is simply too low judging by his recent volume. During the month of December, Beasley is averaging 15.4 points per game on 14.3 shot attempts, and has attempted at least 12 shots in 10 of his last 11 trips to the hardwood. On Friday, Beasley gets an extremely favorable matchup against the Sacramento Kings, which rank 22nd in the NBA in defensive efficiency across their last six games. In that span, the Kings rank 15th in opponent three-point percentage as well, creating playing conditions that should afford Beasley plenty of opportunity on the offensive end of the floor. Take the over here and live with the result.
