NBA Player Props Today – Friday, November 17
- Nikola Jokic Over/Under 32.5 Points
- Scottie Barnes Over/Under 32.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
- Michael Porter More/Less Than 27.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
Nikola Jokic Over/Under 32.5 Points
Yes, this is an In-Season Tournament game, but this market number is still too high for Jokic. He is averaging 32 points per game during the month of November, but that sample includes only one road game. According to CourtIQ, Jokic is averaging 33 points per 36 minutes of action this season with Jamal Murray (ruled out) off of the floor, but the majority of those minutes have come at home. Last season, Jokic averaged only 28.1 points per 36 minutes over a larger and more equitable sample size when Murray was on the sidelines. New Orleans has been near league average defending the restricted area and the paint, and they rank 2nd-best in opponent field-goal percentage on above-the-break 3-point attempts. If the Pelicans can simply play to their season averages defensively, Jokic has a good chance to go under this market number.
- PICK: Jokic UNDER 32.5 Points (-115), Caesars
Scottie Barnes Over/Under 32.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
Barnes was narrowly left out of this article on Wednesday, and it came back to haunt us, as he scored 29 points, collected 9 rebounds, and dished out 7 assists. Barnes has taken a notable leap forward to begin the new campaign, averaging 20.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game. His 16.6 field-goal attempts and 35.7 minutes per game lead the Raptors through 11 games, which only further validates that he is “the” guy up north right now. OG Anunoby is listed as doubtful again for Friday’s game, which opens up another 12.3 shot attempts for the other Raptors. Even in a tough matchup, the over for Barnes’ PRA is playable.
- PICK: Barnes OVER 32.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-105), PointsBet
Michael Porter More/Less Than 27.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
According to CourtIQ, Porter is averaging 19.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per 36 minutes of action (28.6 points + rebounds + assists) this season with Jamal Murray off of the floor. Yet, the vast majority of those minutes have been accrued at home, where Porter and the Nuggets have the benefit of playing in the altitude. Since Murray last played, Porter is only averaging 13.3 rebound chances and 2 potential assists per game, which is unlikely to be a sustainable number of opportunities for him to regularly eclipse this market number. Playing on the road in an In-Season Tournament game, expect the Pelicans defense to keep Porter quiet offensively and for him to struggle to get enough counting stats in other departments to get near 27.5 points + rebounds + assists.
- PICK: Porter LESS THAN 27.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
