NBA Player Props Today – Friday, November 8, 2024

Jaren Jackson OVER 22.5 Points (-140, BetMGM)

Desmond Bane and Ja Morant have been ruled out for the Grizzlies, which could clear a path for Jaren Jackson to have a big performance. Jackson is averaging 28.7 points per 36 minutes this season with both Bane and Morant off of the floor. Last season, Jackson averaged 28.4 points per 36 minutes with Bane and Morant on the sidelines, per RotoGrinders CourtIQ. Last season, Jackson cleared this market number in 18 of 25 games without Bane and Morant. This is a very targetable number in a favorable matchup against a Washington team that ranks 25th in defensive rating this season.

Evan Mobley OVER 26.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-125, DraftKings)

Evan Mobley has posted at least 25 PRA in each of Cleveland’s first 9 games, including 7 games of 26+ PRA and 5 games of 27+ PRA. Even more impressive, Mobley has posted these numbers in only 29.7 minutes per game, with blowouts and some foul trouble contributing to a lighter workload than he’s seen in prior seasons.

Mobley gets a tough matchup against a strong Golden State defense, but there is some reason to believe his counting stats could be just fine. The Warriors have allowed the 7th-most rebounds per game this season, including the 3rd-most rebounds per game to forwards. They have also allowed the 7th-most assists to forwards. Their defense has also allowed a lot of field goal attempts to forwards, which should give Mobley plenty of chances to see the ball go through the net.

This is once again good value for Mobley in what should be a quick-paced, high-scoring affair.

Fred VanVleet UNDER 14.5 Points (-118, Bally)

It’s no secret that Oklahoma City has an elite defense. They enter play on Friday with the best defensive rating in the entire NBA and have been particularly tough on opposing guards, holding them to a league-low 40.2% from the field. Fred VanVleet has never been known for his efficiency, and this season is no exception. He is shooting only 38.8% from the field, including 28.3% from 3-point territory, this season. The Thunder should be able to make life difficult for him once again this evening.
