NBA Player Props Today – Saturday, April 20, 2024

Karl-Anthony Towns Over/Under 17.5 Points
Jalen Brunson Over/Under 31.5 Points
Nikola Jokic Over/Under 9.5 Assists

Karl-Anthony Towns Over/Under 17.5 Points

Karl-Anthony Towns scored only 10 points in 29 minutes against the Suns in his regular season finale. However, with nearly a week of rest heading into Game 1 of the playoffs, Towns figures to be in better shape to push for 35+ minutes in this spot. The Suns ranked 14th in defensive rating following the All-Star Break and were particularly vulnerable to opposing power forwards. In April alone, they allowed 30 points to Zion Williamson, 20 points to Evan Mobley, 29 points to Zion Williamson, and 23 points to Keegan Murray. Towns should have every opportunity to flirt with 20 points in this matchup as long as he sees upwards of 30 minutes.

Jalen Brunson Over/Under 31.5 Points

If we were serious about the word “valuable” in MVP voting, Jalen Brunson might be the odds-on favorite to win the award. Brunson single-handedly led New York to the 2-seed in the Eastern Conference, with Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson, and OG Anunoby each missing significant time. During the month of April, Brunson averaged 35.9 points in only 38.3 minutes. In this series, it’s likely he averages north of 40 minutes per game. Brunson has cleared this market number in each of his last 5 games in which he’s logged at least 40 minutes with Randle inactive.

Nikola Jokic Over/Under 9.5 Assists

If there is one thing that the Lakers absolutely must do to be competitive in this series, it’s limit Nikola Jokic as a facilitator. In last year’s playoff meeting between these two teams, Jokic had 14 assists, 12 assists, 8 assists, and 13 assists in a 4-game sweep. The Lakers seemed to improve in this area during the regular season to a degree, holding Jokic to 9 assists and 7 assists respectively in their final two head-to-head meetings. This is a tall number for any player, even a star in the playoffs.
