NBA Player Props Today – Sunday, May 12, 2024

Jalen Brunson Over/Under 32.5 Points
Michael Porter Over/Under 5.5 Rebounds
Aaron Gordon Over/Under 5.5 Rebounds

Jalen Brunson Over/Under 32.5 Points

We have cashed Jalen Brunson’s under points prop in each of the last two games, but the market has adjusted appropriately to the point that there is value on the over for Game 4.

Despite scoring only 29 points and 26 points in Game 2 and Game 3, Brunson still averaged a healthy number of shot attempts from the field. On Friday, Brunson had 26 points despite a rare poor shooting night in which he was only 10-for-26 from the floor and 4-for-7 from the charity stripe.

This afternoon, the Knicks have a chance to take a commanding 3-1 series lead before heading back to Madison Square Garden for Game 5. Expect him to be aggressive looking for his shot in this spot.

Michael Porter Over/Under 5.5 Rebounds

Michael Porter had only 4 rebounds on Friday night in Game 3, but he also played only 30 minutes in a blowout win – his fewest minutes played by far in a game so far this postseason.

Even including Game 3, Porter is averaging 9.3 rebound chances per contest against the Timberwolves so far in this series. On the road this season, Porter averaged 7.1 rebounds in only 31.8 minutes of action.

Assuming we continue to see high-level defense played on Sunday, there should be enough opportunities to go around for Porter to get the job done here.

Aaron Gordon Over/Under 5.5 Rebounds

In 3 games to begin this series against the Timberwolves, Aaron Gordon is averaging only 3.0 rebounds and 5.3 rebound chances per contest. Notably, he’s now gone under this market number in 4 of his last 5 games overall, dating back to Denver’s opening round series against Los Angeles.

Gordon played at least 40 minutes in the final four games against the Lakers to end Round 1, but he has not seen more than 33 minutes of action yet against the Timberwolves. He’s not at risk of being removed from the rotation, but it’s clear that the bigger bodies and length of Minnesota are impacting his game.

The under is the move here until Gordon can prove to us otherwise at this point.
