NBA Player Props Today – Thursday, February 22, 2024

Donte DiVincenzo Over/Under 18.5 Points

Since Julius Randle last played on January 27th, DiVincenzo is averaging 26.5 points and 21.5 field goal attempts per game. He ranks 10th in the entire NBA in scoring during that stretch and only Jalen Brunson is attempting more shots per game than DiVincenzo in that period of time.

Tonight, DiVincenzo has a mouth-watering matchup against the 76ers, who rank 27th in defensive efficiency, 27th in opponent 3-point attempts per game, and 19th in opponent 3-point percentage since Joel Embiid last played on January 30th. Assuming DiVincenzo sees close to 40 minutes again on Thursday, he should have every opportunity to get the job done for us here.

Luka Doncic Over/Under 32.5 Points

Taking an under on a Doncic points prop is not good for anyone’s stress levels, but it could be a profitable endeavor this evening. Each of the last 3 seasons, Doncic has been a slow starter in his first game out of the All-Star Break, scoring 28 points last season, 23 points in 2022, and 22 points in 2021.

The Suns have struggled of late against quick, athletic point guards such as Trae Young, Stephen Curry, and De’Aaron Fox, but they have been better defensively against other guard profiles. Doncic is obviously capable of having an explosive scoring night any time he steps on the court, regardless of opponent, but there could be something to the fact that he has been historically inefficient on extended rest around this time of the year.

Stephen Curry Over/Under 5.5 3-Pointers Made

Curry was on a tear heading into the All-Star Break, making at least 7 3-pointers in 4 of his final 5 games before the break, but his recent production is nowhere near sustainable. Even counting his hot stretch entering the break, Curry has made 6+ 3-pointers only 21 times in 50 games this season – a 42% hit rate.

It’s also worth noting that Curry went 38-for-75 (50.7%) from beyond the arc in those 5 games, which is significantly more efficient than his 42.1% success rate this season and 42.7% career success rate from deep. The Lakers’ defense ranks 17th in opponent 3-point attempts per game and 8th in opponent 3-point percentage in February, making this a reasonably difficult matchup for Curry. The under has value here.
