NBA Player Props Today – Thursday, November 2
- Scottie Barnes Over/Under 18.5 Points
- Talen Horton-Tucker Over/Under 5.5 Assists
- Tobias Harris More/Less Than 14.5 Points
Barnes Over/Under 18.5 Points
Scottie Barnes averaged only 15.3 points per game as a sophomore, but he has taken a notable leap to begin Year 3, averaging 20.8 points through his first five games played this season. Barnes enters play on Thursday as Toronto’s leading scorer and the focal point of the offense, evident by his team-leading 16.9 field goal attempts per game. In five games, Barnes has yet to attempt fewer than 14 field goals and has only attempted fewer than 16 field goals once. He played only 29 minutes in yesterday’s blowout victory over the Bucks, which means his legs should be relatively fresh for this evening’s action against the 76ers. Barnes looks like he has every intention of sustaining his 20.0 points per game average for the duration of the season – get in before the market fully adjusts.
- PICK: Barnes OVER 18.5 Points (-125), BetMGM
Horton-Tucker Over/Under 5.5 Assists
Talen Horton-Tucker leads the Utah Jazz with 5.6 assists per game to begin the new campaign, but he has a tough matchup tonight against the Magic. Through four games, only the Pistons, Raptors, Knicks, and 76ers are allowing fewer opponent assists per game than the Magic. Though Horton-Tucker has been Utah’s leading facilitator so far this year, Jordan Clarkson is not far behind with 5.0 assists and 9.0 potential assists per game. Horton-Tucker has played 30 minutes or fewer in each game this season, while Clarkson has played 31 minutes or more three times. It would be surprising to see Clarkson begin to take over more of the facilitation responsibilities as the season progresses, considering the talent gap between the two players. In a tough matchup, the under is worth considering here for a small play.
- PICK: Horton-Tucker UNDER 5.5 Assists (-110), BetMGM
Harris More/Less Than 14.5 Points
Tobias Harris enters play on Thursday averaging 19.7 points per game so far this season. Still, the market continues to release his points line at over/under 14.5. Harris took a lesser role on the offensive end of the floor with the 76ers last year when James Harden came to town, but it’s not as though Harris forgot how to play basketball. The year prior, Harris averaged 17.2 points per game. From 2015 to 2022, Harris never averaged fewer than 16.1 points per game. Harris should continue to see ample volume to make him competitive at this market number each night. Even against a tough Toronto defense, Harris has a good chance to score 15 points.
- PICK: Harris MORE THAN 14.5 Points
