NBA Player Props Today – Wednesday, November 13, 2024

James Harden UNDER 22.5 Points (-110, DraftKings)

James Harden continues to take a significant number of shot attempts, which makes betting an under hard to stomach in some ways. However, he’s simply not making enough shots to warrant taking an over on him in a tough matchup against a good Houston defense, which enters play with the 3rd-best defensive rating in the entire NBA. The Rockets have been particularly tough against opposing guards, holding them to the 4th-lowest field goal% in the league this season. This just isn’t a good matchup for a player like Harden, who has struggled to be efficient. He’s likely going to need a lot of free throw attempts to get to 23 points this evening.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander UNDER 30.5 Points (-120, DraftKings)

The Pelicans have lost both games they have played since Zion Williamson went down with an injury, but they have been far from a disaster defensively in his absence. Against guards in particular, New Orleans has been almost exactly league average in terms of opponent field goal percentage and opponent 3-point percentage. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 45 points on Monday in a closely contested game against the Clippers, but he’s been a lot more selective on the offensive end otherwise this year. Prior to that contest, he had taken 19 shot attempts or fewer in 6 straight games. This could be a sneaky under spot.

Kevin Huerter UNDER 10.5 Points (-108, FanDuel)

Kevin Huerter has been highly erratic so far this season. He has scored double figures 6 times, but he also has 3 games in which he’s scored 4 points or fewer. Phoenix isn’t a defensive juggernaut, but they have done a pretty good job defending above-the-break 3-point attempts, which is where Huerter attempts the majority of his shots. Entering play, the Suns have held opponents to the 7th-lowest success rate on such attempts this season. This could be a tough spot for Huerter on Wednesday night.
